Trying to game out what the best move is to get a room upgrade.

Initial room: The basic resort king from myVegas for two nights.

I was sent an upgrade email for a "Fountain View King" for $55 a night.

Anyone know if its the main tower or will I still be in the back just facing LVB?

I also am platinum and can ask for a complimentary upgrade. I rarely stay at Bellagio but I understand that being platinum means nothing there. Any knowledge on whether I could probably just get this room for asking?

    Thanks!

I've usually seen "spa tower" rooms specified as such. We stay at Bellagio typically and fountain view to me means main building, looking at the fountains!

You are entitled to an upgrade anyway, but that will depend on time of year you'd be traveling.

I know some people actually prefer the spa tower rooms....

Upgrade is "space available" and what THEY call an upgrade could just be a view (other than fountain), larger room, higher floor, etc.

I'll be there for two nights starting on a Sunday, so hopefully I'll get something. I think I'll pass on the upgrade and just see what I can get.

Coming in on a Sunday (vs Fri or Sat), you might have a better chance. Side note - since they have such a high number of checkouts on Sunday from the weekend, you might have luck if you tell them you will wait if you can get a better room vs whatever is available when you checkin - this assumes you are checking in earlier in the day.

I think that's what I would do too. Have a blast! One of the things we like the most there is eating at the outside restaurant by the pool. If not too hot, it's wayyyy relaxing. Especially for us New Englanders still chilled from winter!
