Honestly it's in pretty darn good shape. Sure, you can see parts of the hotel itself that could use a little elbow grease here and there, but honestly my room is just fine and everything works. It's huge and i have floor to ceiling windows on two sides, strip on one, mountains on the other. Cosmo is gonna be way fancier and modern for sure (and of course location location location), but there's nothing wrong with my room at all.

    Bre,
Ipanema tower's are good, and the Masquerade tower (with the "remodeled" "Samba" suites) were very acceptable....however you'll probably hate it, LOL.

I had a Samba room booked there, and got bumped into a classic room very similar to the pics. It was actually a nice room, and the bed was very comfy. No keurig anymore though I see. Have a great trip!

Thanks Josie; we each have a room booked on the newer Samba. Hoping for the best. My friend only has comps at Cosmo, Palms and lower CET properties and since Cosmo and Palms are sold out we picked Rio for proximity to Palms and easy access to Cosmo via the shuttle to Ballys. I keep thinking it can't be worse than the Paris room I had last December.

Miss all the room when staying at the Rio, but just could not win a thing there! Glad your trip is going well!

About last night.... Met the girls for dinner at El Burro Borracho. I was still a bit full from destroying my insides at the Sports Deli earlier, so I just shared some fajitas but they were legit. We decided to head up the VooDoo Lounge on the roof of the Rio.... Got to jump in the diamond line which was fun, but didn't see that cover charge coming. Oh well, it's to be expected.... Amazing view of the fireworks on the strip which were fired from Caesars.... Paratroopers with giant sparkler trails behind them landed on the strip, awesome LONG fireworks show.... two couples got engaged, three bachelorette parties, and a 21st birthday all around us.... Got a big random kiss from an attractive stranger while waiting for a drink at the inside bar as a beneficiary of the "make out with a guy with a beard" part of the bachelorette scavenger hunt. God I love games. Watched an insanely limber 50 something dude do the splits repeatedly and spent a while chatting with a dude with a red white and blue Mohawk and American flag angel wings.... (One of the most Vegas sentences I've ever written) All kinds of hijinx and chaos went down, we really had a great time. Around 1 one of the girls started to fade hard (I was basically manually keeping her vertical) so we left VooDoo and I put them in a cab back to MC. Went back down to the casino and played VP at the Masquerade Bar for about 3 hours after they left. Played basically completely level for the duration. Bonded with the bartender over a common disdain for the “My Pillow” commercial. I got obscenely drunk and then bought a hoagie and some flaming hot cheetos at the gift shop at 3:45am. I only know this because of the trash and receipt i see.

Woke up around 8:45, popped some Advil, getting ready to start the day. Moving over to LINQ for the next four days, so I'll pack up and get that going shortly. Happy 4th, everybody!

Good to see you're having a great time! I look forward to your observations on The LINQ. This is on the to-do/go-in list for my bride and I on our next trip.
    Party on!

Just got checked in at the LINQ, where I'll be for the next four days. I really do love this place, it just suits me for reasons I'm not even certain of. Always has. Anywho, funny story - it's packed around here for the holiday, but Diamond checkin was quick and friendly - seriously, the adorable girl at the check in was about the sweetest and friendliest desk agent I've ever encountered..... real ray of sunshine, that one. I actually dealt with her twice.... got my room taken care of, high floor, ready to go at noon, etc.... navigate the elevators and get upstairs to find that NOPE, SOMEONE IS STILL IN THERE AND THERE ARE PEOPLE IN BED MY GOD.... Bailed out at Usain Bolt speed and back to my new pal at the Diamond desk. Took care of it, moved me to another room on the same floor with the added amenity of being roommate free! Pics forthcoming, time to go explore and eat!

I find this picture hilarious...when we were there a few weeks ago, they brought out one of those "cast iron skillets" to our table, WITHOUT one of those pot holder sleeves, and the waitress just said "Be careful, it's hot"...so I went to just nudge the handle over to move it out of the way..it INSTANTLY burned me BADLY, lol. (I actually put a piece of ice on it, and it INSTANTLY melted it)
Glad to see they've fixed that stupid idea.

More later, but quick peek at my room at the LINQ if anyone is interested. I love the vibe of these rooms - I know they're small, but for solo trips it's perfect.

Spent the day playing VP at LINQ, Caesars, and Harrahs.... Played almost even, just $20 down for the half day. Lunch was Earl of Sandwich at the Caesars Forum Food Court (I swear I crave that Thanksgiving sandwich)....Took a little afternoon nap (still recovering from Voodoo last night) and then met the girls at Blondies in the Miracle Mile at PH. They were doing that open bar $20 HH. They headed back to meet a friend who's joining us at MC, and as I was walking my way back north I popped a $5 in a Cheshire Cat machine at Paris, hit 5 free spins with 3 wilds and 3 arrays and turned it into 163 in sub three minutes. I can't explain it, but I ALWAYS win on the slots at Paris. It's bizarre. Currently celebrating the hit watching baseball in the Parks diamond lounge. Gonna play a bit more working my way up and I think the plan for tonight is Carnaval Court. And the blazer. Hope you're all enjoying your 4th!

Nice TITO from Paris! I have the opposite luck there! I know a good portion of the board can't wait to see you rocking that blazer! Keep up the good times!!!

That looks like the Holiday Sandwich from The Earl; we have one every trip....it's become a tradition. I can check off get a tattoo at Club Tattoo on the Must Do list posted; I had one done by Ben at Club Tattoo a few years ago. The Linq room sure isn't the old IP, looks much improved! Really enjoying your updates!!!
