Not sure where to post this.
Got an email for a free Norwegian cruise for two. Must stay July 8-10 at one of their properties ad pickup certificate at the Linq. Mus book thru the VIP department. Has anyone accepted one of these offers and is it really free and where do they sail from. Just wondering if it's the real thing.

No, it's not really free at all. You have to pay the port fees and taxes. I just did one last month from Miami. 7 day eastern Caribbean. It ended up costing about $375 a person for the inside stateroom. Balcony was a $300 a person upgrade.

They give you a list of cruises to chose from when you get the voucher.

My wife and I have taken six NCL cruises using CET certificates, and have been satisfied with the value.
While it is far from free, we have saved between $1,000 and $1,800 versus the best prices you could find through a cruise discount travel agency.
If you wanted to take a cruise anyway, this is a good deal.
    Regards,

The above answers are more or less correct. I say that, as the deals vary a little from month to month. If you do a search here on the term "cruise", you will find lots of answers.

Bottom line, they give you a good deal if you want to cruise. If you like to drink while playing, that is an extra perk.

Most of us more than pay for the cruise via gambling onboard.

What SteveAC01 said above is on the money.

Ncl has drinks package included when you book, so really worth it. Not free cruise, but more like buy one get one free if you upgrade to balcony. It's an amazing vacation and would highly recommend.

The good part is you can use whatever offers NCL has when you book. I booked one in March for this September and while I had to pay the admin fee for myself and my wife, I was able to add my son (15) to the reservation for free (no admin fee) and we also got the free alcohol package (which is huge for a cruise). My advice is do it. Im getting another one during this promo as well

As to free drinks, some clarification.

They normally charge for drinks in casino. Regular players get a card that gives them free drinks while playing.

NCL sells or offers drink package to guests for drinks around the ship. Sometimes it is an included perk.

Getting any of these will vary based on the specific sailing and your level of play. They do NOT look at your CET play level from the ship players club. Totally separate.

What are the parameters for getting the offer, is it a specific aspiration level? I'm gold with NCL/Diamond with TR and am planning a cruise in November anyway... was wondering whether to go through my usual TA or give TR a call...

If I remember correctly, when they mail you your NCL cruise documents you will find a 'Casino's at Sea' club membership card and a 'Casino's at Sea free drinks in the casino' card for each of the persons registered for the cruise.

It works out to be a bit better than a 'buy one get one free' deal. Well worth it if you like cruising!

    * You will get your players card when you board.

    * We have done maybe 8+ cruises with NCL. Our current players card and drink card were always in the room when we boarded.

    * As to getting offers, different casinos will have different "plans' on who they send offers to. They want you in the casino to donate, and the ship wants you onboard to donate.

    * If you have sailed before - call NCL Casinos at Sea direct. Depending on your past play and each cruise, you may get an offer.

Not really sure. I get them all the time from Vegas, Tahoe and Reno. I play at those places the most. I'm a high diamond with CET. Gonna make 7* this year.

Not super high. I'm a low diamond and get them from time to time, but I also occasionally got them when I was platinum.

Call Casinos at Sea. Do not call your TA - they can not do anything. Offers are tied more to PLAY than TIER, but am guessing you have enough to get a "free" cruise and do not need any certificate or offer.

Go to cruisecritic.com and then the NCL board. Search on CASINO for more info.
