    Minor celebration..
the software company I work at went through a HUGE layoff (about 50% of the company!) and I was actally originally on the chopping block..then my manager got me a stay of execution, of two weeks (which would have been up tommorow)
But again he went to bat for me...now I'm indefinitely staying, WITH a title change AND 10% salary increase on TOP of the increase that comes with the title change, at the end of June.
    Hooray!!

WHOA, you didn't lose your job plus got a raise, well done sir. My wife works in IT and it seems since 2000 she has to find a new job pretty much yearly which is really stressful to say the least....

They're laying off people but giving raises? lol. By the way, I'm betting that the jobs report is going to show an increase in unemployment. Been hearing about A LOT of layoffs lately

Intel near where I live is getting ready in a few years to shut it's doors, of course this has been talk for sometime now, I'll tell you Rio Rancho is very dependent upon Intel, they've helped fund schools, businesses, etc.

Kudos glad you have a job! Congrats on moving up the ladder With a pay increase! My husband and I talk all the time, of just how blessed we are! Especially when it's said our economy is in great shape, than I see Aeropostale closing, sports authority closing, I hate to be lied too!

    were a "start-up", but we've been a "startup" for 15 years, lol.
CEO got let go, new financing secured and we had to cut operating costs..at HIGH we were 750 strong, 15 years ago..we've dwindled to 150 now.
