    Hi All,

Long time lurker and this is my first post. I hope I can be clear.

I recently moved to St Louis and have played a couple times at Ameristar Casino. A few weeks ago, I received an offer from Ameristar to stay at any MGM Las Vegas property for 3 nights with $300 free play and $150 resort credit. Some friends were going out for March Madness so I figured I would check and see if I could get a room comped at Mirage and I was shocked that they said YES.

But now, I am worried. I really do not expect to keep up my usual play while in Las Vegas as I will be with my basketball watching friends. My usual play at Ameristar, based on the points I have earned in 4 days of play, is about $10,000 coin-in per day.

So, if I dont play at Mirage, will it affect my comps back home at Ameristar? I dont care about future comps at Mirage.

    Thank you!

    Allie

    Hi Allie,

My home base is the Ameristar in Kansas City. The MLife connection has existed about 3-4 years and the offer is based on your Ameristar card level beginning with Preferred, then Elite, then Owner's Club (which gets very well FRB comped at the Bellagio). Alas, I only qualify for the Mirage/MGM/Mandalay Bay offer but no complaints - free is free!

I've taken the trip 2 years previously, this year is scheduled for August. It will not affect your Ameristar issued offers nor comps. But take your Ameristar card with you as MLife will match the tier level - go to the player's club as soon as you get checked in and get the better MLife card.

You will start getting offers directly from MLife that will be based on your play in Vegas. People in Mlife get similar offers for Ameristar properties.

    Have fun!
    Ann

    Couple notes.

1 - You really do not know what you will or will not play in Vegas. Plans and reality are often different.

2 - I do not think the systems are actually connected. I would guess they get "lists" of people to target vs actually tracking your daily play between the two companies.

3 - Even if they do, it is one visit. Just like your home casino, sometimes you have a low visit.

4 - Even with somewhat level play, your offers from your home casino will move up and down. The variance is not tied to ONLY your play, but is also impacted by quarterly goals, management, etc.

Go, play (or not), have fun. Gonna bet you go back sooner than you think you will.

    You're welcome Allie!

Also, if you go to your Ameristar online account it will show your current & upcoming offers and the other benefits of your tier level. You should also have qualified for the Atlantis, Bahamas stay and possibly the Royal Carribean cruise. These trips are based on the current year tier earned and must be used by March 31st the following year, BUT, only 1 trip a year. So if you think you'll make a higher tier during the year you may want to wait for the better offer. Each tier level increases the level of the hotel and the amount of free play & resort credit on the Vegas trip.

Any of the Pinnacle/Ameristar owned properties across the country will match your tier also. Enjoy and maybe I'll see you on this side of the state sometime. I'm there far too much as I pass the casino going to/from work every day.

Nostress is correct, the two systems are not connected directly but anyone in the upper 3 tiers qualifies for the same level of trip benefits according to their tier level.

    Have a great trip:wave:

AnnBrown - As a further question to this - when I received my mailer for 3 free nights at most, 2 at Mirage/MGM or 2 at Bellagio S-Th, $50 FP & $50 food credit - it had a 'temporary' mLife number assigned to me on the card. However I have an mLife card already. Do you have any idea if I called & tried to book it, would they honor the offer or would they deny it based on not having the same offer or desired play history in my current mLife account?

I thought about adding F/S at Mirage to my April trip, but I don't want to shortchange wherever I would stay play-wise and my budget will top out about 5 nights this trip. Don't really have the cash to add a couple extra days.

Just curious if you had any knowledge of how a situation like that would be handled. Since I'm not adding the days I didn't want to spend a ton of time on the phone with mLife to satisfy my curiousity lol.

(My offer came from a stop-off during a Council Bluffs trip - we stay & play at Harrahs & Horseshoe but did a 2 hour stop at Ameristar)

I had a similar issue my first "comped" stay. It was the Ameristar offer under the temporary MLife number and I still had the old MGM/Mirage player's card. When I called the Ameristar VIP line (which goes straight to the MLife desk I believe) the clerk combined all the accounts & offers into the temporary MLife number, booked the offer and I picked up the new card when I arrived. No problems and each year when I get the upgraded card to match my Ameristar level the Player's Club has already been aware of the connection.

Let me know if you have any other questions - especially about Ameristar

I actually had the same thing happen. I asked the person on the phone to not combine the numbers. My prior Mlife play was at a different financial situation in my life and I was afraid they would not give me the offer.
