I get that you receive chips for table play with a marker, but how do casinos handle credit for slots and VP players? I can't seem them just handing out cash that you could take and run amok in the bar/shops/strip club, so how do they do it?? Thanks!

In every property I have a credit line, you absolutely can just march up to the cage, sign a marker, and they will hand over cash. Now that cash is supposed to be used only for play in that casino, but if you show them some reasonable action you'll be fine.

You go the the high limit room or cage, sign the marker and get the cash or a TITO. Easy peasy.

I assume if you take too much out without giving them much action, they'll pull your line. But I've taken out cash and walked directly to another casino dozens of times without any repercussions. (Though, it was always a small fraction of my total line and I had given - and continued to give - the home casino plenty of play.)

Thanks guys, I'd read somewhere that they wouldn't do that but clearly that source was not correct!

Some casinos won't. and some casinos have a limit. For instance, the D. They will only give $500 at a time from the cage.

Some casinos (such as Venetian/Palazzo) , if you don't show losses to match the draw, will (as is their right) cash the checks within 3-5 days.

Wynn, if you have a lower limit credit line ($5,000 is their minimum line), will cash all markers within 5-10 business days after taking them out.

It is easier to ask for a TITO then cash at most places. If you really need some walking around money and they wont give you cash just ask for a tito and go to the kiosk to cash it. If you walk with their money without playing you will generally get a talking to the first time.

Last time at Caesars they gave me TITO in the amounts I wanted for VP. I took out $3500 - $4K at a time. I suppose you can ask for any amount to up to your LOC.

I was just thinking about setting up a relatively modest LOC to avoid traveling with a lot (to me!) of cash for a week long trip and wasn't sure how that worked. I wouldn't tap it for more than a couple of thousand in a day. Like I said, I read or heard somewhere that they didn't give out cash because they didn't want you to walk across the street with their money.

Might depend on the casino but I'm pretty sure you can get it from the regular cashier at the Cosmo.

I've seen people getting TITO vouchers for that.

As for "running amok" and spending the money at bars and strip clubs and all that: its not free money... if you go and blow it all stupidly you still have to pay it back

I've done that numerous times. Not sure if anything has changed with the new HL slot area, though.

You can marker out cash or get a TITO at the cage. However, if there is a big discrepancy in play versus what you take out, they may freeze your line and note it as, "Walking with Chips". This has happened to me before...bouncing between properties and never making it back to the property where the marker was drawn, before the trip was over.

Best to check with the casino as some may have a different policy regarding markers. Also the policy is different between strip casinos and downtown and outlying casinos.

I regularly take out cash markers downtown at the casino cage. I don't like to hold up the table games so I just get my $$ before I sit down. I set my daily limits so I usually walk away when I hit them so I don't take out more markers at the tables when I run out of money. Not sure if the downtown casinos give TITO for markers but I know that the boyd casinos give out cash for your marker. The downtown casinos never questioned my markers or use of it at their casinos but I mostly play at the boyd casinos anyway.

The markers I take out usually is for my expenses, including gambling, strip clubs and meals. While I bring up some cash just in case and travelers checks just in case I always take out markers just to show that I use them (but then I also put in a similar amount of play at the casinos).

I'm a small (more like micro) roller so I don't take out much, probably $300 to $400 a day in markers so maybe that is why the casinos don't bother me much about my markers.

I have LOC at Aria and Mirage. For those two casinos you go to the small cage in their respective high limit slot rooms and give your card and they print out a marker and hand you cash or a TITO.

My credit line is at Harrah's, but I rarely play there. I just get my cash and go. However, I typically play a lot at the other CET casinos nearby, and I always go back and write them a check at the end of the trip (other than the occasions when I can just hand them back cash and still have some left over....that's nice!).

How much is your LOC at Harrahs? My line of credit at the Boyd casinos is small - only $3000 so that may be a factor in how much they bother you about how you use your marker. Maybe if you take out $5k markers they may question or rescind your marker if you don't show any play at the casino you take the marker out from.

    It's just $5k. I don't think I've ever taken more than $3k out.

How does it work if you are from a different country such as canada. Can they just take the money out of your bank account if you lose. I don't think they would want a cheque in Canadian dollars. Or do international players just wire money after they get back.

    $5k marker?

It is so easy to take $5 in cash with you.

Or only take few thousand. You can get $1000 at a time from any ATM for $6 service fee. Cheap. Easy. No questions. No hassle.
