Will be in Vegas during March sometime and plan to use the Deuce to head downtown.
We are early birds and will plan to utilize the Deuce around 6:00am and don't expect any issues.

The concern will be when attempting to return to the strip in the afternoon with expected stops at The STRAT and SLS.
Even the Deuce's web site reads that it could take an hour to get downtown due to the bus being full.

How often and what are the chances of having to wait 2,3 or 4 additional times to catch a bus with room?

If you're coming downtown from the strip at 6am, yes you'll need to use the deuce. But, on the way back if you're traveling between 9am and 12:00am, it will likely be faster to take the SDX from downtown to the strip. Your strip destination will be the deciding factor. If SLS or Strat are your destinations from downtown, use the SDX. If you're quite south on the strip (Tropicana area), then the WAX may be a solid option too.

    Rtcsnv.com for bus info.

We took the SDX last time and it was so much faster! Yes, the buses get very crowded in the late afternoon and evenings.

I would not worry about that.
The buses are big, can hold many people.
I used the deuces on every trip and had only once to wait for the second bus because the first bus's engine broke down, not because it's full.

We also use the deuce many times with no problem, very seldom we have to wait for the next bus because the first one is full, and the 2nd bus is usually right behind the 1st. So go for it.

The local public transit would know to add extra buses or frequency, at the peak times of year, I would think. At least... I hope. :)

The problem with the Deuce is getting where you're going. Taking in consideration loading/unloading, numerous stops and heavy traffic, I can sometimes walk faster than the bus traverses the Strip.

You won't have to wait if you're catching it from downtown to the strip. Southbound it's usually going to take a couple stop near the center strip before the bus really fills up. You can also catch the SDX to speed things up. Limited stops, but faster travel time.

I have never had to wait for a Deuce or SDX in either direction.

I guess it just depends on your timing. When we leave the convention center at 5-5:30 and are headed for Bally's, we can wait for 2 or 3 buses because they are all packed with people coming from that end of the strip.A lot of people that work in the casinos take the bus as well. This is the only time of day that we've ever had a problem and had to wait long. Last time we just gave up and paid for a taxi because we didn't want to wait another 15 min. For some reason we didn't take the monorail that day. I think we were just too tired of walking. Or, I was just being cheap that day,

Depending on where you get off the SDX is a far better option, much less stops. The Deuce can get very crowded and the multiple stops can make it a lengthy journey. Remember to check the bus stop timetable as the Deuce doesn't always stop at every stop during certain times, as we found out during our last trip.

I was just there in November and I didn't have to wait for the next bus (deuce) due to capacity issues. It does get pretty full mid strip, but if you're starting downtown going southbound, you'll be fine. It is sometimes slow (you can walk faster than the bus) but it's cheaper than a cab and better than walking!

Originally we were just looking at the Deuce but we could minimize the wait and maximize our options by combining both the Deuce and SDX and it should still be cheaper than taking a cab.

Can you buy one ticket and ride both or must you buy one ticket for the Deuce and one for the SDX?

This is coming from someone who has always had a vehicle and has used public transport (buses I mean) only maybe 10 times in my 50+ years, I would say use Uber if you have luggage or a large amount of purchases..........use both the deuce and SDX for simple transport............just don't pull my rookie mistake and get on the deuce instead of the SDX to go downtown from the strip, it takes a while!......lol........

Last year during March Madness(Thursday), I took the Deuce from Tropicana stop to downtown around 7am(took about 35 mins). I traveled back to the strip around 3pm on the SDX and didn't have to wait on a second bus.
