    My Trip Report

I've been without or away from internet for quite a while now. But I do have an ancient trip report from Halloween until November 20. It was a losing trip, but still frugal. I had a great time. I am now totally sure that I will abandon downtown and substitute Boulder Highway, a few days at Red Rock for the hiking, Laughlin. I am considering even taking off and seeing Utah in the middle of the trip. I'll also piggy back paid rooms at the Gold Coast with free nights at the Orleans.
Downtown is just too noisy. I have stayed now at the Four Queens, D, El Cortez, Fremont and not gotten a quiet room. I'm getting old.
Also, I'm just downsizing the gambling. I'm looking to play dimes instead of quarters on full pay video poker. I still can't beat that Golden Nugget game for live poker, but I guess I'll ride to it rather than stay where I can't sleep anyway.

I really got addicted to hiking Red Rock and I loved the casino which was free on MyVegas, but would be worth $100 a night to me.
Looks like free Station Casino nights are over, but they caught my attention. At a good price I'd also stay at Palace Station where dime play is possible.

Not too much more to say, except that my Trip Reports are very, very long, but divided into clearly labeled categories so easily can be skimmed. Check TR Snippet in the title.

Thanks for the report Dewey. It is very detailed and full of information as all of your reports. I think you are doing the right thing by moving around. Laughlin seems to be a good fit for you for a couple of days especially since you make your Vegas excursions for quite a length of time. I have stayed at El Cortez and had a noisy room from the bar across the way. If I remember it was worse on the weekend than during the week. All the other rooms I have stayed at downtown quiet down after the last Fremont Street light show.

I have driven the Red Rock loop and pulled over at spots but never hiked. It is beautiful. I can see why you would like to stay at Red Rock Casino. I like to hit up Suncoast and Rampart casinos when I go out that way. Maybe Suncoast would be a cheaper option than Red Rock.

Sorry the poker tables weren't good to you this time. Hope you have a great trip next time around wherever you decide to stay. Bottom line it's Vegas and it's vacation and it's fun.

I enjoyed the report and I'm glad to see you posting again. Why the lack of internet?

Good to see you back Dewey! I've read so many good things about Red Rock; I really need to make a point of staying a night there sometime.
