Wynn - VP Coin In = What amount of points

Got this from a host at Wynn the other day when I asked her about coin in to points earned - - It varies on the machine. Some poker machines are $6 per point, and some are $15 per point – it really depends on the pay tables.

It varies based the pay table? Huh, When did this start? Hope I'm not that out-of-touch. News to me.

Anyone else heard of this or run into?

 

Yeah. It's been that way for a few years now (2012-ish maybe). To further confuse matters, if you play in the HL room, some machines actually give you one point per $5. Aaaand...better paytables don't necessarily mean lower points-earning. It's all part of the Red Card charm. :evillaugh

 

The only machines that are $15 a point are some "full pay" games that are 99.4%+ return. So unless you play 9/7 TDB, 9/6 Jacks or 99.45% Bonus Deuces Wild, it will be $6 a point, or $5 a point if you find the machines thecarve mentioned.

 

Ahh, so each game EITHER pays $6/point OR $15/point, not really $6-15. That is to say, no machine actually pays $8 per or $11 per? That would explain why I've never noticed the points get better/worse based on paytables other that the full pay ones you mentioned.

Of course, this still doesn't explain the $5/point machines (of which I'm 100% certain) but it does make a little more sense of the Red Card system.

 

That's my understanding at least from what I read on VPFree2. The $5 a point games are likely misprogrammed, imo.

 

Thanks for the comments guys and insight. I need to look into this a bit more especially at other places. This catches me completely by surprise. Not necessarily a deal breaker but annoying to say the least, and, yet another sign of the penny pinching ways of some casinos (or should that read most casino's).

Yeah, any way to drive more revenue and they are all over it.

Sounds like a few days work to me. And what another 10K to 20K out of pocket and the watch is yours. Hope you post a photo once you purchase....
