DTLV.com has reported that in October The Real World will tape at a hotel downtown. While most folks think it will taped at The D, I was thinking they may actually tape at the DTG. The reason I think that is they just moved all the table games into the high limit room which makes it easier to tape inside a casino since most slot players have there backs to the aisles. With the hotel being "slow" it makes it easier to tape unlike the D where at times it's standing room only. The hotel has reduced and/or eliminated comp nights for October and November. Also consider the pool at the D is nothing to really look at compared to the pool at the DTG.

    Just my thoughts.

I didn't know Real World was still on. But hey, if they shoot in Vegas I'd probably check it out.

Real world houses normally require several rooms and I can't think of any hotel downtown with rooms of that layout. Golden Nugget spa suites would be the closest thing with the extra space but still lack the adjoining rooms. They'd have to knock out a couple of walls and join up several suites. Maybe there are some penthouse suites downtown with lots of space that I don't know of?

Poor young souls, you get to go Vegas to party, party, and party at Cosmo, Cromwell, or MGM, and then someone tells you that you are staying at an old age retirement home Downtown where the Incredible Burt Wonderstone makes guest appearances. But then again Downtown is the Real World.....LOL.

The Real World? Is that still a thing?

I didn't watch much of the first season, but I did like the 2nd season. I stopped watching midway through the 3rd season because there wasn't a likable cast member on the show, and never watched it since. That was back in the 90's. I had no idea the show still existed. What season is this?

HA! Agreed! I still watch the program with my kids... I can't believe it's on season 31! (started in 1992, guess they doubled up some years) It's actually gotten good again, as they've spiced it up some recently. 2 seasons ago in San Francisco, they brought a group of Ex's in to live with the cast members after a few weeks and last year, in Chicago, they did a similar thing by bringing in people from their past to expose "skeletons"... like previous drug abuse, etc. Is it riveting, great TV? No, but it keep us entertained.

Was thinking about this and it did occur to me that one season of the show was done in Seattle in a large warehouse and it occurred that the Las Vegas clubs old casino floor could be used.

Real world. Thats a good one. A bunch of unemployed 20 somethings living in a mansion and having everything paid for and filmed.

They should let them really experience it and when they show up provide them with pastys and filthy sponge bob outfits. hey they are downtown already.

Well Vital Vegas posted that the show will be filmed at the Gold Spike so that answers the question. When I was downtown at the end of August they were filming scenes from the NBC show The Player and had actually closed Freemont St by the El Cortez

I'm not sure that this will be entertaining. The hottest young people are in the hottest hotels. If I were a woman who was in Vegas, and looking to hook up, I wouldn't follow someone downtown.

Vegas laws regarding fighting are stricter than other places..so I don't see there being a lot of that.

I also don't expect the hot night clubs to allow them to have their cameras there. Wynn tried to sweep a gang stabbing at XS over Labor Day weekend under the rug but failed.

This doesn't make sense. In all practicality, yes, but for the show, and considering today's celebriwhores, I'm quite sure that the real world cast won't have a problem attracting talent back downtown.

I'm quite sure that the casinos with the hot nightclubs aren't going to allow the cameras on the property. MTV will probably have to send their people there and offer girls (and guys) money to head back downtown. I have a very attractive friend who is from NYC and was approached when visiting the jersey shore to do just that. They offered her cash to go into a local bar in order to shoot a scene for jersey shore where one of the guys would hit on here. She declined because she was engaged to an NBA player and had a good paying job at the United Nations.

I'm Downtown 10/11 - 10/18 and kind of want to see if these kids are as much of a shi$show as the show portrays....
