Would You Pay $40 To $150 To See Joan Jett ?

Hard Rock sent me an e-mail.
Pre - public sale = $40 - $150 for Joan Jett tickets.
My band opened for hers back in the 80's -- once was enough....though she has some good songs.
She now has all new guys backing her ( younger - the original
guys must be too old for her management company's public persona image ).
I wouldn't pay even $40..........who's payin' $150 ?
Would you ?...........Joan Jett ?

 

Although the music hasn't changed and it brings back good memories . . . my take is this.

I go to SEE them as much as hear them play.

I want to remember them as they looked when they were young.

Just like I wouldn't ABBA to do a reunion . .

Do you realize that the Wilson sisters of Heart are in their 60's?!?.

 

Hard to imagine Joan Jett would be a big draw... I could see folks already in town heading over for the evening, but not envision many coming into town specifically for her gig. The high dollar tickets for concerts there are pretty sweet, as they're in the luxury boxes, which have nice leather recliners, drink-service to die for and separate bathrooms. I'm not a down front, head-bangin, fight the mosh-pit' kinda guy anymore... but I still wanna catch the good acts.

 

I received the pre-sale email this morning too, and if I really wanted to see her I could come in a day early next month. I really like the venue, but not enough to change my trip to see her.

 

Yeah, I'll ante up for the best seats in a good venue. But, I expect VIP perks and treatment for the big bucks.

I see Joan Jett once a year and she's still got it. She's in fantastic shape and seems to still enjoy being on stage after all these years.

I saw her open for Deep Purple at least 25 years ago, Not the right crowd for her the audience wasnt in to her She left the stage saying F@!K You Hartford. I would not pay to see her.

 

No but I would watch a few minutes on Fremont street for free.

 

No, I wouldn't but then again I wouldn't pay 400-600 for bottle service at a club just so I had a place to sit and split a bottle of grey goose... but many do!

 

I would pay $150 to see Joan Jett serve me dinner and my bill was around $750.

No way I would pay that to see Joan Jett. Then again, the only song that comes to mind is "I Love Rock and Roll". She was slightly before my time. Change the concert to Bryan Adams, Erasure, Depeche Mode, etc. and I'm there.

 

I saw her open for the Who a few months ago. Her set was really good. I think the ticket was around $150 so no I wouldn't pay that just to see her. But if you like live music, for $40 or so I would definitely say it is worth it.

 

It's just for Joan Jett. I thought she was on tour with another 80's era band. No I wouldn't pay that much but I also wonder if the price was set that high for discounting later.
