Flamingo checkin

The lobby is a zoo. Do they have a separate checkin for platinum TR

 

Last I checked, they had a separate line for Platinum, while Diamond and 7 Stars had a separate room.

I agree that it can be a zoo there; that lobby and desk is in the wrong place, and the wrong size. If there's any type of crowd or line, one of the two routes to the back casino and rooms is blocked.

 

We checked in by email last year. They emailed us when the room was ready and we got to go to the keys only line. There was only 1 person in that line.

 

I hate to tell everyone...because then it is no longer a secret (but here goes):

For the last 7 years (every-time we have checked-in) they have a had a separate line for Total Rewards members (even the gold level is allowed to go through).

I imagine that most people assume that it's for higher tiers...but it's for ALL Total Rewards Members. (We are always Gold level and always use that special Total Rewards line).

 

In April, i believe that total reward members sign got changed to platinum+. Unless i misread it, which is definitely possible.

 

Damn you for spilling the beans At the Rio last year we were in the regular check in line, which was pretty long. There was 1 person in the "special line". I looked closer at the sign and it said Total Rewards Gold Members and it took me a minute to remember that I was gold and in fact everyone is gold (or higher). I went over and got checked in right away.

 

Ha! You're right, now I remember noticing that at one point. Though I seem to remember a separate Platinum there last summer.

Bet someone did a nice sociology report off that signage...

 

I actually think that once 4 years ago it also read that...but that seemed to only be on one day.

So maybe on a very busy check-in day that offer the expedited line to platinum +

I also show up a few hours before the 4:00pm check-in time. They don't charge for early check-in at Flamingo if it is past noon.

 

Unless it changed again since I was there in April, the Gold TR line is gone. They said too many people just signed up for the card to skip the line and it didn't save any time (total BS answer), I believe there were too many complaints from other guests waiting to check in, and us lowly Gold level people don't really matter to CET, so they eliminated that line. Platinum and above have a separate room to the left of the desk for check in.

 

No Gold TR line as of last week either. Only the regular line, and the keys & mail line to the right. Platinum and above using the separate room to the left, as you said.

 

That's too bad...it was nice while it lasted.

 

Airport Check-in

What about airport check-in? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

 

mike, there is no longer airport checkin for Flamingo or any other CET properties. They stopped that years ago.

I got an email the morning we were checking in. It also had upgrade options on it. We did book directly through the Flamingo.

 

I'm platinum and I checked in using the diamond lounge in May of this year. I think it says "Platinium/Diamond" somewhere so I took advantage of it.

 

They will email you in the early morning hours of your check in day with a LINQ to remote check in.

 

Yes, as AMS said the Platinum at Flamingo has been in the same room as Diamond/7Star - and that hadn't changed at least as of earlier this year. Other props have separate lines vs. allowing same check-in as D/7S. It varies a bit by property, Paris has a separate line, Harrahs was in the D/7S room, Linq at one point was in the D/7S room, Ballys had separate line, etc.
