I spoke with a pretty hi up Marketing VP who pulled my play and the just was I've been comp better than my THEO and that He will correct that.

Meaning He stated that since I was not happy about the Aria I will not have to worry about staying here in the future.

I am more than welcome to gamble here as a CASH player or anyplace else.

Since I have a Local host in Dallas she can comp whatever she wants since it is up to her. His response was just that and He said if my local host can comp and do what she wants based on our relationship or even my New Mandalay Bay host.

He just stated that since I'm not happy at Aria's hotel and restaurants that, he will see that I won't have that problem in the future. LOL

    :soapbox::soapbox:

So in short. Gamble here if you want or don't want Aria does not care, but we will not be sending you any offers.

He said I have plenty of Express comps and I should use them.

I take that as a FU get out of here.

I'm good with Wynn. I"m full RFB with no problems. My host called me and asked how my visit was when I got home and asked if there was anything else I need. She told me I was way under comped for my stay again. Got to thank my friend Natedog666 for letting me gamble with him. My average bet and time is always great when we gamble together.

It was crazy I won so much and did not know what I was doing I hit the straight like 5 times. I had a Green for me and the dealer almost everytime. I should have been betting blacks but I was new to this and was just learning.

For sure sindustry UTH next time.

Oh you had Koren fury. My wife called and yelled at me for not making the flight. So I can understand what your night was like the last trip.

Deal sindustry some UTH and some Bacc

    Hey Mr. Fish,

As you seem to be an expert in blackjack, I was hoping you could explain the bets on this hand to me, as my buddy and I are having trouble understanding how this all played out. I asked on Packers thread but no one noticed the question, except one dude who said you can double after split, which I already understand. basically my question is, how do the 2 $800 bets happen? (the bets in the middle with one purple and 3 blacks) I get all the $400 bets were splits and then doubles.

    Thanks!

Packer bet 400 on the hand when he double down. Packer put a purpler out to double. Rather than change it to 5 blacks the dealer put the purple chip with the other four black and the gave one back so the bet goes from 400 to 800 double down. THink we was running low on blacks.

Plus it was easy to see since I was at the table in the next chair betting small???? WTF is wrong with me.

so the dealer must have paid off packers bet with the purples first before his bets to the left and to the right of that?

no dealer was still paying off the winning bets when we took pics then the pit boss said no pictures. She paid the double down and was just getting to the orginal bet.

Just so you know I was equally confused by this, so I am glad pphold explained it. It looked like he was suddenly allowed to split for more in the middle of the hand :) . I explained it to myself by thinking that the initial bet was $800 and it was just because of the angle of the picture and the way they were stacked that we didn't see the purples under the rest of the bets. The dealer didn't deal this very cleanly, which is odd because HL dealers are usually chosen for that specific characteristic. The tray wasn't that low on blacks. I'm sure that surveillance was a little curious about it too (if they were watching).

Wow that's harsh to say to a big player. I have had mostly positive experiences with the staff at Aria and bad ones at Wynn...I guess like anything else in Vegas, it is luck of the draw :) .

That said, I am seeing a trend of casinos just not caring about some fairly big players. The Wynn craps thing is an example. Also a place in Reno barred me from BJ recently for having the audacity to play perfect basic strategy and beat them for $18k (the only barring in my life), and another one told me on the same trip that I was welcome to play but they wouldn't raise their table max for me anymore after I got lucky the night before. So maybe casinos are doing so well these days that they can pick and choose their customers.

At least Vegas seems to still like me lol.

The sad truth Vegas and alot of other Casinos don't want people to know. They secretly hate winners, especially ones that can move quarterly numbers.
They go out of there way with marketing to cover that fact up, but they are a business like any other and unprofitable customers are disdained and employees are being trained to
always look out for the bottom line, rather than the customer experience. Except of course when they get their shit called out in the media (social or mainstream).

This is really sad... I've been playing blackjack a long time (35 years) & have only been barred twice... first, by Circus at a single-deck game, head-to-head, where I never even increased my bet...not even once! (They shuffled on any positive count - even after only one hand...& I questioned it. No more blackjack allowed for me at Circus).
The other time was in Central City, Colorado... single-deck game, dealt almost to the bottom... about 45 cards. (They didn't worry about counters they told me, as the max bet in Colorado back then was $5. So, I simply played every spot on the table whenever the count was positive... after a while, they just told me I was no longer welcome to play blackjack.
Now, as you already know, even my 'basic strategy' play requires me to check my card from time to time..otherwise, I will make the wrong play periodically. In my youth, I didn't seem to have any trouble at all...but now? I have to check on things like splitting 4s or soft-doubling A3.
Amazing that they would bar you if you weren't obviously counting, based on your bet spreads & the timing of any bet increases.

I guess I just don't catch the same heat because I bet so little on average... I've been known to even comment openly at tables about how few tens have come out over the last two hands...that sort of thing.... and never have any problems these days...of course, these are $5 to $15 tables...so perhaps that's why they just don't seem to care about me anymore!

Yeah my "system" when I play in Reno is to add about 50% to my bet when I win, and drop it by 50% when I lose (I play slightly different in Vegas because the table max is usually much higher in Vegas). So they couldn't have mistaken me for a card counter. What was funny is that the table and I were having a great time for hours before they booted me, and when they did it the whole table told the shift manager she was crazy, and they all got up and left with me. She refused to explain why she was doing it, and so they all thought they were going to get barred too because we were all winning - I just happened to be the biggest one.

Remember, you can use your Express comps at any MLife casino, not just at the Aria. So there is no need to give the Aria any of your business.

Im sorry pphold but I talked to my host who as you know is high on the totem pole and a close friend. He said he would have approached your situation differently. But due to you having some corp mgm host in the Midwest there hands are kind of tied. I have mentioned several times to get an onsite host that would take care of most of your heartache at Aria. He would have intervened with the hotel personnel and made you happy. Imo and my host opinion of course

I got hold of my contact at the Wynn after hearing about the 2x odds fiasco, and this person also mentioned that they banned a couple dozen high limit BJ players who were lifetime winners there, as they just did not want their action any more as they were not a profitable customer for the casino. So, it was just not craps players that they were picking on.............................Looks like they just do not want the exposure any longer

That was what the Aria VP said. I can use my express comps at any MLIFE casino. In short he was like Bet CASH if you like we will book your bets here but we are not going to give you anything since you are not happy here. Keep in mind I was only gambling there because I was winning.

Since I lost the past trip in March and did not go back to gamble there I'm clawing back with wins at MGM and Mandalay Bay. The lost just got wiped out so Aria does not see me as a profitable client.

Its MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay time. Thanks Packer I'm using your host at Mandalay Bay now. I need a Good host at MGM Grand. I've been put in contact with one so it might work out.

With Natedog and Packer switching away from Wynn. I'm looking at either V/P or MGM Grand.

    Yep.

These days the Beau is offering me $250 in promos a quarter.

I haven't been there in 2 years and they have no interest in me ever coming back.

They never call me and never invite me to anything or try to woo me back with deals.

So I'll never go back. Which seems to be what they want anyway.

    Haha!! I soooo get this......

I was all pleased with my decision to switch my play to V/P this year- worked FANTASTIC last trip as I finally had full access to the shopping, AND, everyone was at the Wynn! Now it looks like everyone is stampeding to the other end of the strip, and for the final kick in the butt- the Canadian exchange rate is so crappy it makes the cross border shopping futile for me, LOL!!

    Palazzo anyone? ANYONE????

I never did surmise my thoughts on that place...

Lets forget about me dropping 4k in 48 hours for a millisecond, and them not wiping out less than 100 on the backend. The casino is so small...and the VP options are basically non-existent (2 machines in HL (No STP) and only 3 STP machines on the entire main floor). That being said, we did like the hotel portion of our stay, the rooms are very nice and the food options are excellent (loved Grimaldi's for pizza, the Grand Lux café for late night drunk food)! Carnevino was a little disappointing so we will have to try CUT next time we stay at V/P!

Our next V/P stay we will most likely give the Venetian a shot, the casino there fits our playing style much better!
