So...optimum strategy calls for holding 4 to a flush instead of 3 to a royal in most cases. I'm assuming that when a progressive jackpot hits a certain amount 3 to a royal always becomes the better play.

    1. Is this assumption correct?
    2. If so, at what point does this happen playing quarters(a la Four Queens progressive?)

Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise!

For all 3 royals to beat a high pair and 4 flush you need 880 extra coins on the royal. So on a 25% that royal needs to be $1220 or higher.

I think those are the 9/6 JoB numbers for a 100% return game.

For 10/7 DB, for AKT, AQT, or AJT suited to beat AA and a four flush the royal needs to be 6365 coins (~$1591 at quarters). Best of luck seeing a 10/7 DB progressive that high at four queens!

Sorry my numbers did not include AA so at $1220 you go for it unless you have Aces. At $1591 you go for it even over Aces it would seem
