Where are you staying? There is no attached hotel. It's a nice casino. Non smoking, except on patio area. Haven't won much there but I go to Hollywood more. It's about 15 miles west of Cincy in Lawrenceburg IN.

I go often. It is prob smaller than you are expecting. They run a tight ship, its clean and comfortable. The buffet was excellent, now its just really good. There is a pizza joint that stays open late, they have a special with your total rewards card. Its great after a night of drinking. I have only played VP there, you can order a drink at a discount rate from the machine. The drinks are pretty decent. The Margaritaville sometimes has live music, its free to get in. The bar in the center has a DJ on weekends and gets a good crowd. A shuttle service runs to all the local hotels, the casino partners with two for COMP rooms.

I like Horseshoe much more than our Hollywood in Columbus.

Just don't wonder around the area. It's one of the worst areas of Cincinnati!

We are staying at the Embassy Suites in Covington. Not comped, but good rate. Is there a Bar to get a drink? How's the VP. They have free shuttle.

yes, I sure do. Actually I now live in Granvile, about 25 miles East. I have never stayed at Embassy in Cov. We usually stay at the Residence Inn. I dont use any of my Vegas comps at Horseshoe bec I never gamble enough there and don't want to burn myself for Vegas. The VP is okay there, I have played for 15 or 20 mins here and there.

If you gamble a bit get a comp from the host for the Partner restaurants rather than the casino ones. Boca, Nada, Sotto and John Roberts Table are all excellent. Alcohol is covered at non-casino restaurants but only Margaritaville in the casino. Discretionary comps are easy.

Best hotel is 21C or Cincinnatian

The area made me nervous driving even during the day. Lots of rough looking characters on the street. Really liked the casino & the employees are so good that they could train ones from other casinos....very impressed. It is non-smoking but vaping is allowed inside. The Diamond Lounge has a small "meal" each day starting at 4pm....not a buffet like most others. Must say the food was good for what it is.....we had a prime rib sandwich, shoestring fries and a decadent brownie.....maybe not enough for big eaters but was fine for me.

The casino had many slots I had never seen before but they were tight.

Just live about 30 min north of Cincinnati and go to Horseshoe frequently. The gaming conditions for blackjack are HORRIBLE on the main floor and mediocre in the high limit room. Do not play double deck, you can only double on 9/10. I no longer play blackjack there. I only play craps, some video poker and nl he at Horseshoe.

To those that say it's in a bad part of town, it's literally right off of I-71!!

If going to horseshoe, be sure to take some time away from the casino and go to Rhinegeist brewery for a few pints

    Ron,
We are Buckeyes. Husband played for them. We are heading to Columbus Sunday staying downtown, looking around. We are actually thinking of moving back, would love downtown area, but pricey. Any suggestions? We are retiring soon and want something small. Heard Columbus is pretty affordable. We have a big house to get rid of. What areas would you suggest looking at. We have a very short time there, but in the future looking around more. Will be at Horseshoe Mon to Wed.. Heard Embassy Suites is nice with Shuttle. We aren't using comps, saving for Vegas in August. Heard Granville is nice.
