Anyone had success when calling the MGM of getting a person actually at the front desk? I don't want to talk to reservations, I want someone who can pull up my room at the front desk counter.

No idea but I do have direct numbers to the Skylofts and Mansion if you need them.

I wish I had a need for them! Nope, we're just in the ********* regular rooms. But I got a $34 suite upgrade offer on my 1st night on my MyVegas room and wanted to ask them to block us into that suite for all 4 nights (remaining three are Mlife comp) if possible. I don't mind paying the upgrade fee for all 4 nights. We get in really late so if I wait until we check in, I'm sure it won't be possible at all.

I know they are usually very busy but hoped to call mid-day between major check in and check out times on Monday (our arrival day) to see if they can help me out by blocking a room and linking the reservations in advance. I already asked through the VIP services phone and regular res phone but they can't guarantee anything before check in. Whenever I call I get transferred there.

I think they would always say that upgrading a (non-MyVegas) comp room would be subject to availability at check-in unless a host arranged it. If reservations and VIP Services both said no, then your chances of success in talking to a front desk agent would depend on them not knowing the policy (so of course there's a chance).

I think your chances are not bad at check-in even though it's late, as long as the suite is available for the first night when you get there. They let you pay the upcharge for the remaining 3 nights, and then it's the people who have reservations for that room type over the next 3 nights who are going to run afoul of availability (unless they actually have it blocked).

It would be nice to take care of it in advance, because the upcharge might be less now that it will be at check-in.

They didn't actually say no, they just said they couldn't guarantee before check in. I'll call tomorrow and sweet talk the agent to see what they say :)

Oh I see. Well, that's always been the case, but they've been making a point about saying it explicitly over the last year or so.

Ring the hotel, ask to speak to the manager on duty.
