So in reading another thread I came across the following for table games:

"Theo = (amount put at risk) * (house advantage)

(Amount put at risk (table) = (Average bet) * (Decisions per hour) * (hours played)"

That all makes sense except I do not know what the casino considers 'Decisions per hour' for blackjack? Is this a hard and fast number, or does it depend on how many people are playing at the table? I was thinking 60 hands per hour might make sense, but I'm not sure.

    Anyone have any feedback?

They have an option on the rating sheet to check slow, reg or fast speed. That changes the hands per hour they use.

So maybe 30 for a full table (slow), 60 for 3 people at a table(reg), and 90 for solo play (fast)? Does that sound about right?

No I don't think it changes near that much. You really get screwed on the rating when you play solo.

    Thanks for the info Shifter.

    1) I also recently heard that as a rule of thumb, your average bet per hand at BJ over the course of every 4 hours is equal to your comp amount. So if I had $100 per hand average for 16 hours of play, my comps should be close to $400 ($100 X four 4 hour sessions).

    2) But if I assume 60 hands of play per hour using the theo method in post#1 at the top of the page, I get AVG Bet (100) X hands per hour(60) X hours played (16) X house advantage (1.5%) = Theo. In other words 100 X 60 X 16 X 1.5% = 1440 Theo. I've heard 30% of theo is comps. 30% of 1440 is $432 in comps. That is pretty close to the $400 comp calculation in example 1.

Sorry if I'm geeking out here. I'm just trying to find how much in comps I'm leaving on the table each trip. I think I had $150 in food charged to the room on my most recent trip with about 16 hours of play at $175 per hand. I'm now thinking I should have charged much more to the room. Live & learn....

Yep that's a pretty good way to estimate.
