    My Trip Report

A little background info. This is my first trip report, and I will say upfront that I lack any creative literary genius, so I will do the best I can.

I will spend the next few days getting acclimated to TAPATALK. I hope to post pictures and updates during the trip, assuming the internet connection is what it is supposed to be.

For those of you who have never been to the Atlantis, it is a HUGE resort that is made up of 5 (I think) different hotels, all on the same mega property. The best comparison I can give it is to the MGM brand. The quality of the hotels range from the Coral Towers (Monte Carlo or the Luxor), to the Cove, which is where I am staying. All the rooms at the Cove are suites, nicely furnished and with GREAT views of the resort and the Caribbean. I am heading down to the Atlantis on a corporate offer (first time on an offer), so I will report my experience. I have gotten connected with a host, and so far, he has been spot on and it has been a good experience.

This is the offseason for the Bahamas, so I really have no idea how busy it will be, but I am a BJ/Craps player and I like the Sportsbook. Bank roll for this trip will be 25k, and I expect to be at the adult only pool quite a bit, and they have outdoor gaming right by the pool!

I normally go to Vegas once or twice a year, but I have not been since last spring, so I am ANXIOUS t get back to the tables!

We are going this Fri-Mon! A less than 2 hr. flight and comped room; weekend getaway-no-brainer!! We are very low rollers and get Royal Tower comped. We like being there, for the proximity to pools, slides, and casino. Those who hate resort fees would cringe at the $60+ in fees each day! We played Let It Ride next to a guy who was betting $100 on each spot, was staying comped at the Cove and still had to pay the fees. (maybe they were taken care of at the end of the trip)
Don't look at the weather report, it changes hourly. When we were there the end of June, what it even said the day of, was off as far as rain/cloudiness. I want to be the meteorologist for Nassau!! My husband tells me to quit looking at it!!

Good luck to both! I couldn't get any of those fees taken off the final bill. And they charge for spotty wifi service there, so it's understandable if you can't update much while you're there.

Michael Jordan was there while I was there, playing blackjack at the pool. Betting $10k x 2 hands. Fun times!

You will love Atlantis. I've been 5 times, 3 times at the cove and twice in the royal towers. From the cove, you will have to take a shuttle to the casino/main parts of the resort but it's only a 3 min ride. The cove is gorgeous, the room setup kinda reminds me of the Venetian rooms with the steps to the living room.

The cove has Mesa grill and a great brunch buffet. All the other good restaurants are in the casino area (NOBU) and spread out thru the other towers. Make sure you make reservations before you go. Be prepared, it's very tough to get comped on the back end and you still need to pay the housekeeping and whatever else fees/tips they have even though you are comped.

Try the steakhouse on the marina area (I think it's called seafire) it's very good and you can see all the yachts on the water. There's also a good French restaurant and Carmine's for Italian there. (There's also a better Italian place IMHO in the coral towers I think).

Talk to the host, they will give you limo transportation to/from the airport. Remember, everything is very overpriced there. Just be prepared for it.

If you have any questions, just let me know and hope you have a great trip.

I agree 100%! If you didnt know any better, you would think it rains 24/7 in the Bahamas, or any Caribbean location for that matter!

I think comparing the rooms to the Venetian is absolutely correct.

We plan on eating at Mesa, but at this time we dont have a reservation. I didnt think we would really need reservations anywhere due to the fact that I am under the impression that since this is the off-season, there will be only 30% occupancy. Maybe I am wrong?

Couple tid-bits of info for those of you who like information on comps. I am using three different corporate offers for this trip.

    1) 4 nights at the Cove and 100 food credit daily

    2) $240 cash offer for a trip that occurs in September

    3) $250 free play for any trip that occurs in Oct

I called VIP services and confirmed that I can use ALL these offers on the same trip. I have no idea how it impacts my back-end comps, but I will do my best to get accurate figures at the end.

Ok, let's get this day started. Enjoying my morning cup of coffee prior to leaving for the airport. If everything goes according to plan, this will be my LAST non-alcoholic drink for 5 days![IMG]

The prices of the drinks may drive you to water! But to combat this, when I went to the cove pool, I would start off at the craps table, tip the friendly waitress for two drinks (free while playing), then later if I was thirsty at the pool and wanted to save the cost of $16 a drink, would walk 30 feet back to the waitress for my next round of free drinks.

I probably saved several hundred dollars this way. A few extra you can put on the hard ways! Good luck!

Atlantis is Great. I go once or twice every year. You are right to only stay at The COVE. Do not stay at Coral towers. ( more like Circus Circus). Only that sucks is they charge you Taxes and fees and energy surcharge. Still a very nice place to go.

If you get a chance go to the Pottery's clay for some Conch Salad and Cracked or Broiled Lobster. It is 1/4 the price of Paradise Island and very good.

Glad to see this and I look forward to following along. We were just talking about going there for a few days, also staying at the Cove. Would love to hear about the gambling, especially the BJ rules.

Weather here in Atlantis has been perfect!! We would love to try the Cove, but love the proximity of the Royal Towers to the water stuff. We got a top floor corner room with windows on two sides. We can look down on the balcony of the Michael Jackson suite.

Has been a great mommy and daddy weekend getaway! Hoping for a little better luck tomorrow night; our last night here.
