    My Trip Report

This year marks the 20th year of my life with my beautiful wife and after asking her where she would like to spend it she decided on Las Vegas. This was also the 15 year anniversary of our first trip to Las Vegas in 1999. After checking the rate calendar Sunday the 24th through Friday 29th was booked as a comp and decent fares from SWA from a June sale and the trip is booked.

    Sunday
Smooth flight landing 20 minutes early and quick cab ride has us at PHO before noon. Tried checking in and was given a resort room on the 16th floor facing the Cosmo. After dropping our stuff in the room we decided on the Cheeseburger place in the mall which used to be a staple of our trips. Burgers were very good but it seems like they raised the prices since last time we ate there. I don't remember the burgers being 14 bucks. We then made our way across the street to the Cosmo where we had awesome cocktail service. No big win's or lose's and called it an early night around 11.

    Monday
Today we started out with the Spice Market buffet. I'm not real crazy about buffets but the wife loves their omelets and you can't beat the price of 22 buck for both paid with points. The game plan for today was to pick-up our MyVegas tickets for Carrot Top and go to the Shelby museum. We ended up getting seats in the third row and then took a cab to the Shelby museum. I got a Ford Raptor this summer and wanted to see about the package they offered for the Raptor since I love the whipple on my Shelby GT. The wife was a little disappointed that she couldn't find any cute shirts since she is a mustang girl at heart having her own Shelby. The tour was nice but a little long since the person giving the tour was the historian for Shelby. Afterwards we make it back to Mandalay Bay and gamble there and Luxor before the show. Carrot Top was hilarious. This is 5 or 6th time I have seen him and laugh my ass of everytime.

    Tuesday
Today we start with a BOGO at the Bellagio buffet via MyVegas. The buffet was OK for the price. From there we worked our way over to the Cromwell since my wife had no seen it yet. The wife was having a little luck playing a 4x5x machine and I was doing pretty good on a nickle X poker machine. At the Cromwell one girl takes your order on an ipad with a second one delivers your drink. We ordered a couple of drinks and my wife went to play a different machine so when the waitress arrived with two drinks and only me sitting there I gave her a couple bucks and said the other drink was for that hot blonde over there. She hesitated for a second but took the drink over and we had great drink service the rest of the afternoon. That night we had tickets to Raiding the Rock Vault so we crossed to Bally's to catch the monorail. We ended up with tickets on the 7th row via groupon and the show was awesome. I like the addition of the girl to the cast of singers. She knocked it out of the park. After getting our tickets I asked my wife if she wanted to check out the new SLS but she said she would rather go to MGM. They still had the Lion's Share on the floor with all the lion's lined up and it was still ticking like it was still adding up the win.

    Wednesday
Anniversary Day. We slept in and I had planned on going to Mon Ami Gabi for brunch but the wife said she would rather go to Spice Market. We had reservations for Ruth Chris that night a Harrah's. The last two trips we had eaten at Ramsey steak and both left disappointed and about 6 years ago we had eaten at the Range at Harrah's but my wife had a few too many mudslides and didn't remember anything about the visit. I remember I ended up eating two bone in ribeyes because she couldn't eat because of the alcohol. We still laugh about it to this day and she wanted to revisit the scene of the crime. Everything about the meal was wonderful. My ribeye and my wife's filet were perfectly cooked and they took wonderful care of us. After dinner we walked through the Linq and I wanted to check out the High Roller but the wife wasn't interested. We made our way back to Planet Hollywood and went up to the room to change into something more comfortable when I could hear music from across the street. Upon opening the drapes we had a perfect view of the Brad Paisley concert across the street at Cosmo. We ended up watching the rest of the show.

    Thursday
Today started with a BOGO for Aria from MyVegas. First win of the day was the lady at the buffet was having a problem charging me for one of the buffet's so she said it is your lucky day and comped me both. Over breakfast/lunch my wife mentioned that when we were at the Bellagio we neglected to walk through the conservatory. Since the buffet was free I told my wife we should give the Aria some play. When we were getting the award put on my card the guy at Mlife had mentioned that I had dropped from Pearl which did not surpize me since most of our gambling is done at Caesar's properties. We worked our way through the Bellagio and into Caesar's where I was hoping to check out the new bar in the sportsbook but still not done. I was surprized that they already had the machines in the bar with all the construction and dust. Got through the Forum Malls with the wife still not able to find the Coach purse she wanted and worked our way to the Mirage to go to a shop my wife likes to visit next to their gift shop/sundry store. Worked our way across the street to the Quad/Linq and played a little video poker at the Catalyst bar to enjoy some more Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA's. This is fast becoming one of my favorite bars for video poker. The bartenders are great and while the paytables suck they have great beers on tap. We attempted to play the Titan 360 but it again it was all occupied. Back to the Cromwell to see our favorite cocktail server and then a litle play in Bally's and Paris before back to PHO. We ended up having Earl's for dinner and after a little while the wife was ready for the room. After walking her up I went back down and played some 100 play Bonus and Build a Wheel. I ended up completing 14 wheels but never landed on the top payout. I did get 4 to the royal on 100 play and ended up with hitting two royals for 80 bucks on .02.

    Friday
Requested and got a late checkout and after breakfast at Earl's tried one last time to Build a Wheel and get the top award but it was not to be. I did get a full house on the second spin to complete the wheel and double my buy-in of a hundred bucks. I never play on my card on check out day and the wife has been sitting on a zero tier score for over a year and now get's no offers so while I went up to the room to finish packing I told her to put some play on her card. She ended up putting almost 100 points on her card and now has 12 offers with a sprinkling of free nights on the calendar. Got to love Caesar's and their free rooms. Nice cab back to the airport and a quick flight back to Texas.

It was a nice trip and the weather wasn't too hot for the end of August. I ended up making Platinum again for the next year.and noticed after getting home that we got some good coin in at Aria since I made Pearl only gambling a couple twenties. Came back with about four hundred bucks less that I took with no credit card charges except the mall and the store at Mirage. Cash or comps on everything else. The wife must have done pretty good since I gave her 200 bucks on Sunday and she never needed more. Next trip will be a father and son trip in November with my Dad. My brother and his son will also be joining us so I guess it will be a father/son/grandson trip. Last year on the trip we spent two nights and Sam's Town and two at Planet Hollywood. This year my dad wants to spend all three nights at PHO.

Thanks for reading and I can't wait for the next trip with the wife. I think we will go back to late May since she being out there for the NBA playoffs.

Happy Anniversary! Sounds like a wonderful trip. I had those mudslides sneak up on me in Aruba in January. Sneaky devils they are!
