My son and his friends always ask why I carry foam earplugs or my Pro Series earplugs with IPod anytime we travel, especially in Vegas. They came in handy when they dragged me to one of those Cosmo pool parties, I sat there with the earplugs in with a drink in hand and a smile on my face. Complete silence other than the music I had playing. Believe me sign language came in handy that day, what, what, WHAT

I 100% believe you should be able to sleep. I'm not a partier, and rarely stay out super late. But yes, lots of hotels have this issue!! I was at Mandalay Bay, and the beach concert went on till 1 am I can could hear it clearly. Though yes I'm a loser for going to sleep at 11.. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for it to be quiet. Especially at Cosmo, people are spending maybe $300 a night to sleep there, I'd be mad if I couldn't sleep... If you are one of those people who thinks you shouldn't sleep in Vegas, well then fine, stay at a dump. If you are paying top dollar I want use of my room.

This is why several of my hotel stays in the past few years have been at Vdara and Trump, nothing to cause noise at these places.

Last time we stayed at the Vdara, we were on the Cosmo side, 51st floor and we could hear the Cosmo music all night long. I can sleep through anything, but Hubby, even with ear plugs, had a rough time. This year we will ask to be on the other side of the Vdara.

I can see both sides of this.

You want energy in the casino, but not at the pool. You want a quiet room in a hotel that is famous (at least on this board) for its pool party/nightclub.

There is a consumer expectation for a quiet room in a hotel and personally I think the "sold out" answer is bullshit. If you went to the front desk and said you just got into town and asked for a room for the night they would have one available.

Your trip was a bummer, but now you know. If you want a quiet room you have to pick your hotel accordingly. You have to pick one without a nightclub or dayclub, and can't go to one with music next door.

OP should stay away from Wynncore lol.

I had a corner suite at Aria that faced the dayclub at Cosmo, I didn't think it was all that bad.

If you stay on the Tower Suites side of Wynn....zero club noise. Can't say for certain on the Encore side as I've never stayed in Encore.

Never heard any club noise at Encore or Wynn while being in my room. But always be sure to get a room facing north if staying at Encore. Wynn im not sure since its been a while but last time we had a strip view and no issues. Cosmo was also very quiet but i always get a fountain view.

Nope, not the case at Encore unfortunately. I stayed on the Tower side last trip for the first time. Same situation as the Resort side – south facing rooms get plenty of club noise. I was still able to sleep fine, but it was a bit annoying.

I will second your opinion of the Wynn Tower Suites – I’ve never experienced any noise there. Though, I don’t really remember ever having a “noisy” room anywhere at Wynn…have I just been lucky?

ETA: I've had both strip-facing and golf course-facing rooms at Wynn, and I've been as low as the 10th floor.

For me, the problem isn't when the OP was trying to sleep or with the choice of a hotel. I can't get over a hotel getting a noise complaint and then offering a room that also noisy as a solution. Don't they know which rooms pick up pool party noise and which are quiet? And if they couldn't provide a quiet room, why not be honest about it? If Harrah's can do it, why not Cosmo? It goes to the heart of the poor customer reputation Cosmo has developed.

I understand clubs with bottle service making a ton of money but a pool party?
I thought they stop at sundown so people will get back in the casino to gamble.

Pool parties can actually have higher covers than the nightclub. They can easily be in the $75-100 range. And they quickly sell out.

They do, but they have concerts out at the pool as well at night, or some venue there bleeds out into the pool area. Also I think Marquee has some kinda balcony?

Marquee nightclub spills outside to the dayclub pool area. There are bottle serve tables out there and a full service bar. The DJs do not play outside like they do during dayclub time but it still is very loud.

Or an actual high end hotel that offers the expected level of service. Not one just pretending.

I'll also add my love for the golf course view on the tower suites side of Wynn. Floor to ceiling windows looking out over pitch black at night is a bit surreal.

As long as you check-in early enough, ask for a quiet room and your request should be able to be fulfilled.
