I have spent 15 nights in 5 trips at the Cosmo, facing all different directions, and slept well every time. And I'm very, very fussy about this type of thing.

Really? Trying to sleep during the day?

And what difference does that make?

Isn't Las Vegas supposed to be a "24 hour town?"

List of things that you should be able to do in Las Vegas at any hour of the day or night:

    1. Drink a cocktail.

    2. Gamble at the game of your choice.

    3. Eat breakfast.

    4. Eat lunch.

    5. Eat dinner.

    6. Get a cab to/from the airport.

    7. Get a restful sleep.

Put me down for one who hates the constant "THUMP, THUMP,THUMP" everywhere including your hotel room day and night. (Had similar experiences to the OP at the D and TI within the past two years.)

That sucks! I'm with the - I want to sleep when I want to sleep crowd, and I want it quiet. I don't do well on no sleep, and haven't had good luck with ear plugs. So if I'm at a property and encounter that kind of noise, it will most likely be the last time I stay at that property.

I actually just stayed there last week and heard the same noise from the pool in my room on the 52nd floor. Didn't bother me. I can never sleep in Vegas, no matter what the noise level is.

Here's a pic of the pool party action taken from my balcony:

It makes a difference basically everywhere. Just see your local noise ordinance.

Cosmo is for the kiddies anyway. Even on a comp, I wouldn't touch that place with a ten foot pole...

I'm sorry the experience was a bad one. Never fun.

cosmopolitan doesnt want to be a good hotel they want to be a nightclub with rooms attached. if they were a good hotel they would have good service but they are known for having the worst service out of most hotels.

Last month we stayed on 55th floor - facing fountains - nice and quiet. Nice comfy bed too. A bunch of *****s in the casino on weekends.

Let me get this straight... I want to stay up all night gambling and sleep during the day, and you take this as evidence of some 'grumpy-old-man' syndrome?

Really? You've thought about this, and this is the argument you've decided to run with?

Look.. I don't really think of this as a controversial point. Go to any casino from noon - 4pm. Then go to the same casino from midnight-4am.

Late night there are 5x more tables, 5x more people, 5x more drunken tramps (yay!) and 5x more energy.

I want to be a part of that and sleep during the day. If not, at least let me sleep at night.

If neither of those are possible, at least warn me. Then only low-information people like dunebug81 and smartone will be disappointed.

Trust me, I edited that post ten times with words that more accurately described you, but I figured they all would have been censor-filtered out, or I would have been infracted.

A guest should be able to sleep any time during the day.

Not sure why hotels need to have the music so loud. Having the music be more of background would work just as well.

I would send a letter to upper management.

Or better yet...when they designed and built the newer places, like Cosmo, knowing that loud music, clubs, and pool parties were going to factor heavily into their identities they should have added sound proofing on the rooms that are vulnerable to the noise.

I wouldn't expect that in the older joints like IP and Harrah's because when they were built the loudness wasn't the scene.

For the record I am 33yrs old and can/will party it up with the best of them. However when I am in my room, especially once that costs that much, I want peace and quiet.

I don't agree, loud music creates a high energy atmosphere that clubs need. Soft music puts people to sleep. Not conducive to partying. I'm old and don't like it so I stay away.

Funny thing is, as my hearing gets worse (wife thinks I'm deaf) I can tolerate loud music less.

And if you want to walk on my lawn at least push the lawnmower.
