I mentioned this in my TR. We saw them all over the place on 4th of july. Some of them had bumper stickers with a company name and 800 number for rentals. They seen to be marketing them as a convenience as opposed to mobility device for the otherwise impaired. They're pretty fast too, and you can easily differentiate these new scooter bandits from those who actually need the scooters by the fact they are either stopped or going full speed at all times, or lurching around awkwardly in between. We were in Octavius tower at Caesars Palace and they were using that back hallway toward Bacchanal like a damned scooter highway. And we too, witnessed them mostly in groups of 2 to 5 at a time and it was only a very rare exception that any of them looked over 29 or "not trashy." And a lot of hooping and hollering and laughing accompanied then 99% of the time, particularly laughing about hitting each other and almost hitting pedestrians indoors at casinos. Hopefully it's something they can somehow put a stop to in short order without ruining it for those people who actually need them. Cause it sucks, big time.

This drives me nuts and I thought it was just me being me being annoyed with this on my last couple of trips. From a business perspective, I'm sure the rental companies don't care who they rent to. One of these days though, if the wrong mf'er hits me with one of those scooters on the wrong day, I'm probably going to give them a reason to need that f'n scooter, lol.

@MCann @luck.ofthe.draw I am guessing that you did not notice the "scooter bandits" when you spent time at places north of Harrah's and that they were less prevalent at Bellagio.

That is bizarre! Question for those who have been there recently- are the waits for Uber and Lyft still insane? Maybe that’s why these kids are zipping around on scooters? Only plausible reason I can think of (unless they are truly just jerks!).

Those zoom zoom zoom Are not kids. There’re Inconsiderate adults. We talked to some people who called for Uber. It required a wait when a taxi was available.

If this continues, maybe at some point a dr's prescription will be needed to rent a scooter. These creeps have found a way to avoid walking the long distances in LV and it has become a means of transportation. I'm all for those who really need them even though they can sometimes be annoying but this blatant disrespect for the truly handicapped will need to be stopped sometime. With that many people zipping around they create a danger to pedestrians and to each other. What happens when the strip gets back to normal and there are more people around?

That's the fact Jack! None at Sahara but I did run in to a group of a-hole young folks in the bathroom there, just not on scooters, and the only other place we went north of Harrah's was Wynn, where I feel like they probably wouldn't put up with that nonsense. I saw a few unnecessary scooters at Bellagio but not in large groups like we saw constantly at Caesars Palace and across the road. It was one of the reasons I couldnt wait to move by the time moving day rolled around.

How fast can those scooters go, don't they have a governor to limit?
Hope they don't have one of these:D

Maybe if the casino discovers they are liable  for allowing an environment which fosters such behavior should injury occur to the innocent patrons. Then someone will take notice. :biker: :biker: :biker: :biker: :lock: :lock: :lock:
Then again maybe not :nono: liable in which case carrying a baseball bat for personal safety could be an option

I may be making use of said scooters for my trip. I tweaked my back and if I'm still aching like I currently am then tooling around the strip on a scooter sounds like a great idea!

There's nothing wrong with using a scooter in Vegas if needed.

Vegas has designed itself around scooters and the comfort of it's guests. The sidewalks have space to maneuver, the casinos have space to enjoy, and it all works out.

The idea of some people using scooter rentals as a new fad for entertainment is just sad.

so I guess they fit ok in elevators? and everyone jumped off onto a machine?

they might as well rent costumes and make them look like those japan mario carts, IMO thats the global catchup progression.
I'm a little tipsy but book it, it'll happen.

(please give me a few crumbs if you steal this incredible concept and get rich from it)
