Just returned from our first post-COVID trip to Vegas. Flamingo took good care of us.

A question many had, including us was...what the heck with all the, once reserved for those with some condition that makes it difficult to walk, scooters now that are being enjoyed by the masses, mainly 20 somethings. They were flying around all over the place and rarely were they paying attention where they were going, nor care if they were about to run over you.

We asked, and the hotels were perplexed as well, saying rentals were up over 3 times. They said maybe 1 of 5 appeared to have a condition. Just wondered if anyone could explain it.

Noticed the same thing at Mandalay! It's crazy how many people are using them now!

I'm sorry. There's lime and whatever scooters in Vegas now too? Lik right on the strip? Where there's escalators and stairs every 100 ft?

I’m here now. The scooters are annoying.

Actually, how do I say this nicely.... there are more trashy people here than usual. WAY more. Even at the nice hotels.

My friend and his girlfriend had their cabana ransacked and robbed at Aria! The workers at Aria were shocked and said this never happens, they don’t know what’s going on lately. Thankfully they caught them via Aria’s security cameras.

Not guilty, I'm not allowed out of the UK at the moment :p

I've had to use one since I was 30, so coming up 10 years. I've noticed they've become more prevalent during the last few summers, and many of them even worse drivers than myself!

My facebook feed had a video posted recently by my cousin's 2 daughters - both in their mid to late 20's. They were both on scooters blasting down the aisles at Walmart. They thought it was hilarious - an "absolute blast" in their words.

    I was disgusted.

Their friends all commented that it was a great idea for some cheap thrills. I must be getting old because I just don't get it :(

Many of us grownups are staying away at the moment, and happily so it looks like.

This was absolutely the case. That and with no clubs open, they were wandering the strip and casinos. Shocking actually. While at Harrah's, a group came through and one gal took my wife's drink off the table we were playing at (she was at the restroom). The dealer hollered at her, I may have said WTF...and the group just laughed and kept going on their way. We were shocked.

It's not the lime bikes. It's the walmart mobility scooters. I mainly saw them from flamingo down to Paris. On the strip and in the casinos. I saw a guy just doing circles around a pole. My guess is that since the day clubs are closed and the pool is impossible to get into unless you come super early, the young people have to do something to occupy their day. That and the fact that the strip is less crowded so driving around in that thing must be a lot easier

Ohhhhhhhhhh, lol. I haven't been outta the house in 4 months (not really) so I'm kinda of out of touch.
That's weird. Even during COVID there's something better to do than that.

As someone who knows people who require a mobility scooter to get around in everyday life, I am appalled that the various agencies in Vegas that rent out mobility scooters are doing so to so many people who clearly do not require them. (Usually, you rent a scooter through a third party, and they deliver and pick up from wherever you are staying. Not all hotels rent them out themselves.) I have seen not-required scooters rolling around when watching various YouTube live streams, it was generally between Paris and Harrah's on the NB side of LVB, and between Caesars and Cosmo on the SB side of Las Vegas Boulevard. That is precisely where the cheaper and/or more popular and/or most familiar options are -- especially Flamingo.

Despite being so appalled, I get it. I think that the need to stay in business is why the scooter rental companies are so easily willing to rent to just anyone. The people who need the scooters the most are more likely to cite health concerns as the top reason for avoiding all non-essential travel right now -- possibly even any travel outside of one's own home.

For my (hopefully still on) trip at the end of next month, I have six nights booked on the Strip. I will most likely not leave the triangle formed by Venetian, Encore, and the Fashion Show. South of that on the Strip proper seems to be amateur hour way more than usual.

I'm glad someone else noticed this also. I see many more "trashy-looking" people as well on lots of YouTube videos since the re-opening. Flashing gang signs and the like. Fat, tatted up women, and guys wearing their "wife-beaters".

But then again, maybe I look trashy to some folks. I wear cargo pants, and Hawaiian shirts in Las Vegas. I'm 58, and try not to look TOO threatening when I'm out there.

Saw people on these zooming around everywhere. I saw a group of 5 come into the Cosmo front door. Not sure if they were told to leave but they all turned around and left. Saw a guy and girl on the strip. He was going so fast she couldn’t keep up with him. They had no respect for pedestrians and looked liked people joyriding. Worse than trying to dodge strollers.

Me and @MCann witnessed several idiots using these scooters during our last stay in Vegas. Many were not mobility impaired and seemed to just be joyriding and acting like morons. Definitely not safe for pedestrians either.

I'd never seen anything like it in all my years of going. Hope that shit gets shut down real quick.

It's the 1990's Stroller babies, now all grown up.
They Miss the joy miss bumping into the back of your ankles,
While their baby faces were melting from the 115 (in the shade hot sun),
    so they Scootered up!

A few weeks ago at The D, a group of 20 somethings parked over 8 little rascal scooters inside high limit on the second floor.
