    My Trip Report

My DH woke up this morning and said we should go to Vegas.

I said "Yes! Let's go in April when I have a pre-planned day off"... but that's two months away and life is too short. I've/we've had enough life stress since my dad passed (grandpa passed, family issues, work stuff, etc) that we looked at flights and the Wynn slots calendar and figured out that we should go next weekend.

Hotel for two nights (thanks Wynn Slots) and flights, sadly with stops, but we are booked!

Nothing is planned, very unlike me. But shortly after this trip, I have my friend's bachelorette/bachelor party which will be tons of pre-planned stuff.

    T-minus 6 days!
Follow along for pics of food, gambling and less than 48hours of much needed fun in a city that always makes me forget my problems.

    Any Wynn area suggestions?
We've never stayed there but I'm a fan of their chocolate martinis while gambling.
Craps is the table game of choice so it seems like TI would be our closest option for a decent table.

Very sorry for your loss, both your dad and your granddad.

Soooooooo excited for you and your hubby. There are two big threads from the past month or so on Wynn/Encore so check those out. I have a pretty long post in one of them and a lot of Wynncore lovers weighed in, including UKFanatic and JackpotJohnny.

You will have a FANTASTIC time!!

I now have three booked trips in the coming months and I can't wait to be there. In the meantime, your trip report I know will be fun to read. I hope you have a blast!!

Two quick things to mention are (1) the Bellagio Chinese New Year exhibit and (2) the Tim Burton Neon Museum exhibit. The latter closes sometime in February and the CNY one changes in early March so if either or both of those interest you I would definitely check them out.

@Flowers thank you!! I've fallen off the VMB boards for a few months so thats good to know. I will look them up!

For anyone curious, here's the link to the Wynn recs.

I'll def see the bellagio display, good to know it ends in Feb so I don't put it off til the March trip.
Also, I did insist to my friend we should do Neon Museum on the bachelorette/bachelor party, she agreed, and I'm really excited to see it.

Hope you all have a wonderful trip! If you’ve never stayed at Wynn, let’s just say that it’s luxurious that you will not want to stay anywhere else (unless the budget says otherwise). We are not foodies so can’t recommend any places but I suggest partaking in at least one meal somewhere on property.

As far as craps, you can find a $10 game at Wynn during the day. When we were there last, the tables were empty most of the time during the day. At night they will have most table minimums for $25-100 and packed, but I have seen a table for $10 during the week as well. The dealers and pit bosses are very friendly.

Thank you! This is good to know, I feel like every time we've visited (its been a while) table minimums have been $15+ and on a cold table money can go real fast

My sympathies for everything you've been through recently. Our upcoming Vegas trip is also a stress-reliever from some hardships we've been through this past month. Gonna gamble, drink and smoke my cares away. Hope your trip is awesome and you win big at the tables! Gonna be going hard on the craps myself.

Vegas is the best place, IMO, to forget everyday life. Hope you also have a winning, relaxing trip!

Having something fun and distracting from the usual can sure help—I hope you have a great trip!

    We usually stay at Wynn
You'll want to go to the Spa at Encore if for nothing else just to use the facilities.
We like the Buffet and the Terrace Pointe Cafe, Tableau and/or Jardin for breakfast.

    Less than 24hrs til vegas!

Checked into our flights (the problem with booking so close... no reasonable nonstop flights with Southwest) during my stop for a post-work glass of wine. Because as soon as I get home it will be laundry and getting ready to leave the cats.

    Speaking of cats...

She’ll be all up in the suitcases as soon as I turn my head for a second.

    First flight delayed slightly. So...

I’m not a fan of the no-straw movement. It’s not really easy to drink a frozen margarita without one.

My waiter gave me a spoon to mix/use until it becomes more liquid

You know you’re in vegas when it goes from dark to so many lights!
