    Did not realize that.
If that's the case it might be just be a different noise.

Joe, sorry for not being clear. I agree with you about the Cal west tower rooms being much nicer than anything MSS offers. I was referring to once they stuck you in an east tower room and with all the issues you didn’t request to be relocated to MSS for the remaining part of your stay...

Also, I have found the wifi to be useless.

If it makes you feel any better, high west facing west tower also had construction noise from the building next to Plaza in the morning, when I was just trying to go to sleep. (what is that?, Circa garage?)
And for the first time, I got to experience the "Wellness Check" after 2 days of DND up, had just managed to pass out in the morning and was quite befuddled when the (floor shift manager for maids?) came in to check on me.

Guess that's why I stay at MSS nowadays. I am sapphire and get 4 comped nights but when I called and asked about the west tower, they couldn't guarantee a west tower room so I just stay at MSS. I rather stay in a Cal west tower room but since there is no guarantee then MSS it is. I stayed at an east tower room and don't want to stay in the east tower.

Joe, did you ask if there were any west tower suites available later in the day? Sometimes they have late checkouts or have to clean the rooms so even at MSS if they don't have a south facing low numbered room available (no suite though, I don't gamble enough) I ask if they will have one later in the day. MSS usually will say to come back or will check me into the room even though someone is in there or the room has to be cleaned.

I was at MSS in October but I didn't hear much construction noise from the Circa parking structure next to the Plaza. Hope that is the same when I go back in January.

Joe? Needing lipstick? I must have missed something there.

I feel your pain Joe. I've had noisy nights at El Cortez, The Plaza, Vegas Club (now gone), Golden Nugget to name a few. Mostly got quiet after last Fremont St. Experience show. Worst experience was at The Cal when they were filming an action Avengers or something like that movie. They did it around 3 in the morning when the street was empty. We heard bull horns giving instructions and cars racing up and down the street. It was kind of cool but hard to sleep.

The problem with going to Vegas as often as you and I go, the greater the chance for something to go wrong. Sometimes it's the flight or rental car. Sometimes the food or room. If the gambling goes south along with that, it makes for a bad trip. I still count my blessings that I can go as often as I do. I know there are people out there that would love to go even if it didn't turn out to be such a great trip. Hopefully next trip will be better for you.

Polite but firm email went off this morning to host and Cal GM. I explained our experience and also said we never, ever want to be in the East Tower again! I also gave her our flight times for next month and we don't arrive until 7:45 PM, so I don't want a repeat of no rooms available. If she can't do that, then put us back in a suite at MSS. I can live with freeway and train noise.

Joe, would ear plugs have helped?

I wanted to stay at The Cal, but I can't remember East Tower from West Tower, so I would probably end up with the East Tower A/C view on a low floor.

I am stale on GN. Is there anywhere on Fremont that's good?

I might as well resign myself to the fact that 4 or 5 days at The Mirage and 2 or 3 nights at Golden Nugget are my personal Vegas rut and I'm doomed to stay in it.

The bathrooms in the suites at MSS haven't been remodeled? That's interesting. I know they are slowly going up room numbers from the Main St. end and the suites are in the middle, but still you would think they would get the "fancy" rooms done at the beginning of the process.

Sorry to hear of this terrible experience. Construction noise and FSE noise, because of the irregular tempos and decibels will make sleep impossible.

Sometimes the freeway noise and to some extent the train noise is somewhat tolerable because of the steady, regular drone they make.

I find it very strange that your wishes were not granted being the type of player you are and the frequency and loyalty of your visits.

I can't help but think that the employees of the Cal dropped the ball somehow when handling your request. Not when you got there but when you made your reservation in advance.

I say this because even though the Cal is my home casino I've been disappointed several times as to how they handle reservations.

The East tower elevators are to your right and past the glass doors. Don't make the same mistake we did. We assumed the two elevators just to the right of the front desk were room elevators. Wrong! We ended up on the 6th floor of the parking structure!

The West tower elevators are in front of Redwood. Meaning you have to walk through the casino to get there.

I haven't heard an update recently but it seems like they did rooms 02 & 03 and nothing else on each floor. Strange. Yea, the suites are #18 on each floor.

So sorry this happened to you. I have a high tolerance for noise in general, but I used to stay quite regularly at the Golden Nugget (Gold Club rooms). When the Rush Tower was being built across the way and the noise was pretty awful at all hours and I decided to find greener pastures and have only been back once or twice since then.

Joe, hit the dispensary, buy indica gummie. Take nip of gummie, sleep like baby. Wash, rinse, repeat. At least that's what i've heard.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I had a similar experience with a stay at the GN a while back and decided I would never risk it again.

I was at the Plaza at the same time you were there. I was on the 23rd floor in the south tower, but was facing north. The music from Fremont street was shaking my windows, even at that distance/height. I can't imagine how loud it must have been for you.

I can't understand why this music needs to be so loud. I tried hang out and listen to one of the bands, but it was so loud my companions and I were screaming at each other and found it impossible to communicate, so we didn't stay long.

Am I the only person that actually likes to sleep when I am in my hotel room? It seems most people who stay downtown don't seem to mind the wall of their hotel room shaking until 1 am. I don't get it.

I haven't stayed downtown for almost 2 years. If the noise is even worse that's a good reason for me not to book there. That and the fact I can get better hotel prices staying on the Strip.

So, it sounds like I may need to pack my white noise machine, and headphones, even though we are staying at MSS. LOL

I'm hoping the freeway and train noise won't be too bad. At least, I won't hear the bands on Fremont. That is a good thing.
