I never understood the hate. I’m not crazy about his golf coverage but I think that’s more that Nantz and Dan Hicks are great leads and Fox coverage is ‘eh’. He plays to a national audience so he’s gonna talk about the stars, and I think he’s a great voice for our generation along with Nantz, Michaels, etc. And he’s pretty funny and doesn’t take himself too seriously. I’d grab a beer with him.

Nantz >>>> Buck for NFL too, imo. Nantz is my favorite out of all of them probably. A consummate professional over all the sports he broadcasts.

Just something about Joe Buck that gets to me. I really couldn't tell you what exactly that is though.

He is horrid at golf. Most of the FOX team is. CBS and NBC both crush them. CBS golf is very well done, imo.

I think he's pretty solid with MLB and allows Smoltz to shine. Not a fan at all of overly excitable announcers which are too plentiful across the league, e.g. Vasgersian. Yes Joe is a cheeseball but he willingly admits it (read his book).

Most sportscasters want to call that “moment” in the game before it occurs. Consequently, most are sooooo verbose it bores the heck out of me. There are times where I just turn the volume off. For me it’s all about the game regardless of the sport.

I miss him so much on the local broadcast. Try sitting through a Ricky Horton called game and you'll miss him too.

I'm Ok with Buck when it comes to actually calling the game... the chit-chat stuff is annoying, but then Buck is hardly alone with that distinction.
I have definitely noticed that Buck has a 'Nationals' bias... but, again, so many other network guys also show a bias, so he's hardly alone with that either.
I like that, when a hitter lines a fly down the first or third base line & it just goes foul, Buck will simply declare "strike two"... too many other guys would go on & on about how it was "almost" a homer....Buck doesn't do that & I appreciate it.

Never liked him at all. His apoplectic response to Randy Moss pretending to pull down his pants at Packers fans sealed it for me. Never observed so much pearl clutching in a sports announcing moment. Its also revealing that he is so damn boring that the producers of his two episde HBO show asked Artie Lang to insult him as grotesquely as possible just so someone, anyone, would pay attention to the show. I feel bad for some of the self esteem issues (and what resulted from it) he dealt with, but just go away.

One of the most facile concepts in modern parlance: "Hate." I don't hate Joe Buck, he's just a shitty golf-caller. Hate? Silly. Thankfully for Jim Nantz, Buck is out there so Obsequious Jimmy only gets the second spot.

I don't mind him on baseball, I just don't get why the networks have to pretend these guys can call every single sport of theirs
