Southwest flight attendants never ever get involved.
    They are useless.
Next time, take the seat. Seat saving is not allowed.

I understand your frustration @ExVegasLocal . SWA’s policy seems at odds between EB and allowing seat saving. They could remedy by clarifying no seat saving if it is truly ‘open seating’ and first to the seat gets the seat. But then you’d probably hear twenty people saying ‘it’s taken, my so and so is in the loo”, lol.

I just don’t see it changing. SWA would just as soon let passengers duke it out.

There are so many folks doing EB nowadays that, in our experience, we rarely get A boarding anymore, usually mid to high B’s and we book early. Hardly seems worth it, but C boarding is worse trying to get two together. We stick with SWA because of good Non Stop options and cheaper fare, so there we are....

    "when pigs fly"
when I hear that expression, I always laugh out loud.
the person saying it obviously has not flown on a commercial passenger airline in many years.
they have been allowing pigs to fly for a long time now.
    especially SW.

I’ve always seen flight attendants enforce the no saving seats policy when prompted to do so... could just be based on who you get!

Ask for a wheelchair then you pre board with no charge. Play the game better is all.....Lol We laugh when we have flown SW and all the preboard wheelchair flyers are standing at baggage claim, pulling off huge checked bags and wheeling them out walking.

I flew from Chicago to Houston last Monday. Paid for EB, got B7 and had to wait for an entourage of wheel chairs, families et al before I could board following the EB's in the A group. I'm thinking my early boarding is basically worthless if not in the A group. Close to 100 seats were filled before I was allowed my "early boarding". Not life changing but just sharing an observation. Oh, and this was after a 5 hour flight delay that came with no explanation.

The kind of people who "save" five seats are the same kind of people who won't hold the door for you and who don't thank those who hold it for them. The older I get, the more frequently I loudly inform everyone within earshot of their poor manners and/or bad behavior.

For my upcoming trip Im on Frontier paid about 225
    I have a refundable ticket
    1 checked bag
    1 carry -on
my seat is assigned and is the big seat or whatever its called Im in row 2

same dates on Southwest are 371 with the early-boarding
So for that I can have a potential confrontation over seats...to each their own

I would not pay for early boarding on SW. ever.
BTW, I have seen some SW FAs scold people for saving seats, but only on flights that are full or close to it.

    that is great.
YMMV depending what airport you are flying from.

there is sometimes a misconception about SW. people think it is a budget airline. you get what you pay for and you should expect to be treated like crap.
it certainly is not always the cheapest, but in smaller / mid size cities you don't have as many options, especially if you want non-stop.

    Nope.
    Not the same.

I hate resort fees. The are, well.... _____

As to saving a seat while my wife is in the bathroom. No problem at all.
Saving a seat in general... like it or not... we still fly WN and have 6 flights booked with them. No EarlyBoard fees. All is fine.

    This ↑↑↑

They are the only non-stop option from where I live, and fortunately they are competitive price wise.

Evergreen. We don't like it. Let's rant at VMB. Anyway, who doesn't know about SWA's seating policy? Like everyone who travels knowing about resort fees.

Last several trips to Vegas the FA's were speaking loudly and clearly on the mike telling people to get seated in any open seat, no saving seats, if there is not a body in it then it is YOURS. That is the way it SHOULD BE.

And my suggestion would be to take to Twitter. That normally gets their attention. I posted something on Twitter about having a flight issue and they messaged me nearly immediately and tried to make things right.

Like that idea. I was having problems with a service department at a dealership. Got nowhere with normal channels. I lighted them up on social media and was contacted immediately and we had a resolution.
