Lucy and Linus (who were brother and sister) had another little brother named Rerun. (He sometimes played left-field on Charlie Brown's baseball team, [when he could find it!]).

Contrary to many history books, the eastern terminus of the historic Union-Central Pacific Transcontinental Railroad was not Omaha, but Council Bluffs, Iowa. "Mile post zero" is in the middle of a railroad yard on the Council Bluffs side of the river, and a historic marker is in a nearby park.

When the railroad opened, third-class (regular seat, no berth) tickets from Omaha to San Francisco sold for $64 per person ($1,270 in 2019 dollars) and took just under three days. For comparison purposes, Amtrak from Omaha to San Francisco currently costs $124 per person one way and takes just under two days. A one-way nonstop flight from OMA to SFO on UAL runs $357 per person and takes just over three hours.

Bonus fact: That ratty all-but-abandoned railroad line that's just south of the local Ameristar casino was actually once part of the original route of the Transcontenental Railroad! That newer multi-track bridge by the local Harrah's is the current route.

Extra Bonus Fact: Council Bluffs, Iowa has more full-service casinos and more full-service "houses of ill repute" than Pahrump, Nevada.

The professional title "Realtor" (or as they say in Indiana, "Real-A-Tor") is actually a registered trademark of the National Association of Realtors, a voluntary-membership organization of real estate agents. The NAOR seeks out those misusing the term and first encourages them to qualify and join, but pursues legal action for those who continue to use the term without benefit of membership.

Directors shooting 1950s films in the Cinemascope format seldom used close-ups of actors' faces, since the special lenses of the era distorted facial features when shot close-up, resembling a case of the mumps.

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away", but over time, some doctors have developed a resistance to apples, and for those doctors, it takes 2-4 apples per day to keep them away.

Research studies indicate that a new high-potency breed of pear can, indeed, be effective in cases of persistent ARMD (apple-resistant MDs) although with significant side-effects.

The Game Game was a short-lived game show which appeared weekly in some US television markets for much of the 1969-1970 television season. It was produced by Chuck Barris and was his first syndicated production. It featured contestants and celebrity guests answering personality-test type questions. In the summer break of 1970 the decision was made to abandon the series.

As of January, 2019, Bing Crosby still leads the pack as the artist with the most US Top 40 hits of all time, followed by Perry Como, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. The Beatles place 17th. on this list, just below Taylor Swift and the Glee cast.

Synchromysticism is the art of realizing meaningful coincidences in the seemingly mundane, with mystical or esoteric significance. It is a form of postmodern animism that combines Carl Jung's notion of meaningful coincidences with the quest for the divine, or self-actualization through the experience of the divine.
