I dont play slots often and when in Vegas usually I have a portable charger so I never use the USB charging that some of the newer machines have...

anyway, not sure which places have them already but Harrahs NOLA is adding machines with wireless charging which many of the upper end phones are capable off...just sit your phone in a spot next to the Bet/Lines button and get a charge...just dont forget your phone

Talk about multi-tasking. Now if one could only text the CW for a refill, THEN we got something.

I cannot imagine ever having a reason to do this.

As someone who takes a ton of pictures and drains my phone battery quickly, I think having a charging option at slots is super useful!

Hopefully the slot beeps after you cash out to remind you your cell phone is still charging and not to forget it.

Great in theory, but I know for a fact that I will lose my brand new $1000 phone (that I still complain about spending that kind of money on - what happened to free phones with contract??? - I digress) the first or second time I use it. Also, charging my phone is sometimes the *only* way I go upstairs to "rest." :p

I saw a photo of one of these slot machines and my first thought was WOW can we make it any easier for someone to steal a phone.

I spend many hours playing slots so always charge it anytime I’m in the room. But like others, I chat, text, take pics when I remember, a little video, and the mysterious red battery that occurs on my iphone. On occasion it zaps from 70% to 2% out of nowhere.

So I look forward to being able to conveniently charge while playing. I don’t carry a portable charger cause no room to carry. My husband will be thrilled because he won’t have to run someplace to babysit my phone while it is charging since I can’t leave my machine.

I've seen this in Vegas too. I can't say I'd use it personally... there are enough sticky-fingered fleas roaming around casinos looking for machines with a few dollars forgotten in them. A smartphone not attached to anything would be far too vulnerable to being swiped, especially since all a potential thief would have to do is hang back a few metres and wait for me to get distracted (e.g. digging into my pocket for more money, chatting with a CW) and then make their move at the right moment.

It's a nice courtesy to offer, but I'm honestly surprised the casinos would do this, considering that no small percentage of people who got their phones stolen would go on to blame the casino for offering it and "allowing" it to happen.

I like the idea of the charging ports where you can bring a cable. (And keep my phone in my purse. )

Wireless charging? I know I'd leave it/lose it at least once!

What drains your battery even more is when you have a weak cell signal which happens quite often in some of the casino properties. Your phone uses more power to maintain the signal with the cell towers.

I usually carry one of those portable chargers so I don't have to go looking for a wall outlet. Mine is only the size of a deck of cards so I can easily carry it in my pocket and it has the capacity to recharge a dead iPhone about 4X. I'm rather reluctant to use those new chargers at the machines, since I'm liable to forget my phone.

Luckily, my smart phone holds a charge for days. o_O

When I'm in the casino, the phone stays in my wallet on a string, and I do not talk on it, while playing (I see people do this all the time) and I don't text or even use the phone until I am ready to take a break. Now, If I ever get something worth taking a picture of, I certainly will do that. LOL So far, I doubt anyone wants to see my $5.00 win on the Flintstones. LOL:clap:

I'm old school, not against charging stations at the slots, but just not for this semi old bird. LOL :nono:

Just to follow up on the thieving kind! Last year in early December my wife put her jacket ( nice jacket) on the back of her chair at the slot she was playing near the Starbucks door at the cosmopolitan and yes ten minutes later when she finished playing she got up to move to another slot only to find that her jacket had been taken - most upsetting

Some slots in Harrahs and Borgata in AC have the USB port. I've used it a couple of times, I'd rather carry around a 1' cable than a bulky portable charger.
