I had a couple weeks in the Tower Suites in 2010, along with a Salone suite stay in 2006, and agree that it's a really wonderful resort.

Until this year, where I have some discounted, and even a few free night offers, I always pay full price for my rooms anyway. The whole resort fee thing has never bothered me, I just price up the room, and if I'm happy with the price, I pay.

It's a once a year trip for me, so I don't mind being a bit spendy on the hotels :)

Glad that you're both so pleased with it all, and hopefully you can get some more nights for the next trip.

Hello guys, I have a question.
I’ve seen in this forum that the more you play and obtain gems the harder it get to fill the gem meter...
So what happens after you have enough gems to redeem your nights ? For sure you will have reached a high player level. That means that afterwards will always be extra hard to book for new nights ? Or after booking the gem meter starts to fill in quicker again ?

I already have about 4300 gems so enough for 2, almost 3, days depending on the calendar dates. Just have to determine when we will be coming back out as I’m sure I will have close to 4 nights worth of gems by that point again.

I have 2 devices. If I pay just for the internet access can I use one at a time? I am not interested in the spa so hate to spend twice the amount. My iPad is WiFi only so need WiFi for that. But if I make a phone call it is better on WiFi. Also, is there WiFi in the casino for free? Thanks!

I'm not sure why anyone would pay for wifi. I'm from Canada and it's only $7 a day to roam with my data plan in the US, and anyone with half a brain has a plan with plenty of data to do so. Guest wifi is also available in almost any restaurant or casino/hotel lobby. You're likely not in your room long enough or doing anything requiring much data anyway so regular browsing certainly would never warrant paying $20 plus dollars a day or unnecessarily volunteering to pay a bullshit resort fee.

My iPad is WiFi only. I need it for my business, post to this board and maybe watch Netflix when I’m taking a gambling break. I’ve never had the option to not pay for access. My phone is unlimited.

And I will check later if I can find the other half of my brain. Been missing for a while.

I am a bit confused about the second point you are making.

What "wow" factor are you getting more of if you pay the resort fee?

For us as infrequent visitors and rarely have any comps, the wow factor is staying at such an upscale resort for virtually nothing. We paid the resort fee since my wife needed the WiFi service so she could do some work from the room. Are we happy to be in Vegas? Yes! But staying at the Wynn for less than $50/night blows away anything else we could get for the same price point.

I absolutely hate this when it is suggested. Don't say it if it isn't true. I see this recommended all the time. I was actually refused a fridge one time (FOR MEDICATION) because, as I was told, 'everyone lies and says they need it for meds so we now charge everyone'. I offered to bring my meds down and show them and they said no it didn't matter.

I agree that faking the need for a fridge for medication is not the way to go. I'm a horrible liar so I would practically break out in a rash (then they'd think I need the medication).

I love having a fridge. I don't drink coffee so a cold diet coke is may AM wake up beverage. I also try to drink a bunch of water in the room to counteract the alcohol and prefer it cold.

Last year at Bellagio I asked for a fridge. Was told there is a $35/night charge. I said that was fine, I'll take it. It was up in my room within an hour. They never charged me. Last trip I asked, it was there within an hour and I wasn't told of the charge nor did I pay one. If it is important to you, as it is to me, just pay for it. The other option is a suite. Sometimes they have them (not always). I'm willing to pay $35/night for the fridge, but get a better room for $79. So I get the best of both worlds. I love the ones in the Corner Suites at Aria - they even have an ice maker!

I had a real bitch of a time connecting to data on my phone at the Wynn a few years ago, I pretty much had to have the phone right on the window ledge to connect....I have heard strip facing rooms have that problem(we were facing the strip) and the golf course facing rooms are much better for service....so if you need service in your room you may be better off paying that fee......I probably wouldn't, but then I am a pretty cheap bastard.......lol

Part of it is just security. I have my work email on my personal cell phone. I am not supposed to log into any 'public' wifi. In-room wifi where you have to enter your room number and last name to confirm is not a whole lot more secure but is at least somewhat more acceptable. Public wifi can be 'faced' to display and appear it is a valid wifi when it really is not - it can be a fraudulent one run by hackers who are then harvesting your data.

I never said we were lying. (My husband has meds that need to be kept cold).
I suppose I did infer that someone could lie if they wanted a free frig, so I apologize for that.

The hotel you are referring to was pretty bold, cheap, and lying themselves. Unless they actually check each and every person's fridge during their stay, they can't know that most don't keep meds in it. It sounds more like they didn't stock enough fridges to go around, or they just flat-out wanted to charge a fee for them, regardless.

My suggestion is to post this question in English. But from what I think you're asking, the pools are not part of the resort fee, so if you do not pay a resort fee, it does not stop you from using the pool.

Keine Resort Fee für den Pool. Es ist für alle Gäste inbegriffen. Ich kann kein Deutsch.
