It is in a weird spot and I didn't even know is was there on our first stay at Park even though we went for a drink at the Library. I wonder if it was directly on the casino floor over where the NoMad High Limit area is if it would be busier.

Mama Rabbit is another one I can't figure out. I swear that place is never open.

I personally think the biggest issue for NoMad Bar is its inconsistency. In the few years it's been open, I feel like they've changed the hours, the menu, and the overall vibe a ton of times. My own experience is that I remember loving it for brunch, whereas right now it's only open Friday night, Saturday night, and Dolby Live event nights, serving mostly snacks and a couple mains. Sometimes it's a jazz club. The location wouldn't be a problem if it was able to establish an identity, because foot traffic isn't a problem if it's a destination; it's not like Carbone or Zuma are dependent on people wandering by and deciding to eat there. And the name doesn't really help, as depending on what the concept is at a given time, it's usually much more of a restaurant than strictly a bar. That spot has potential, they just have to decide what to do with it, and having it share a name with the fine dining restaurant across the hall doesn't seem to be working.

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. Just got back from staying at the Nomad last Sunday to Friday (4th Vegas trip) and really enjoyed it. I picked it due to central location and non-smoking.
Was able to upgrade from a standard to the Alterier. I liked Bavettes, but my one complaint was finding quick coffee anywhere on the property- got a tip from someone in the elevator and ate a great breakfast at the American Cafe in NYNY.
My slot payout % for the week was around 81% of my coinplay. I was originally deciding between this and Aria, as that had more modern rooms. It didn't seem as if Nomad Bar was open most if not all of the times I was there- completely empty when I passed through it to get to check in desk middle of the afternoon one day- thought what a underutilized space.

It feels almost like a hotel designed by a committee.
GREAT components : Bavette's and Best Friend are excellent restaurants. Location is very good. Decent pool.
Non-smoking (I prefer this). Rooms are reasonably priced for non-gamblers. Table limits aren't over the top, gaming floor doesn't feel intimidating.

However, the end result is the aforementioned "soulless" husk that is only a destination because of its proximity to the arena and Dolby Live. Probably the most boring room I've stayed in all of my trips. Perfectly serviceable, but even T.I.'s outdated rooms are preferable to me. The D, golden nugget, Luxor pyramid and mirage with the old school tub (no walk in shower) I would still choose over Park's base rooms. At least those have character if nothing else. Of the properties I've spent at least a night in, ParkMGM's rooms only eclipse the Gold Coast on the gilgunderson rankings.

So is it confirmed that it is just the nomad bar going away? And the nomad hotel is staying?
    Or still unknown?

Regardless of your final opinion on whether you like or dislike Nomad, this post is the first time I have ever heard the rooms described as boring

AND, there is big difference between possible renaming and going away.

I know there has been a little discussion of the Nomad Bar in this thread. So FWIW, I just received the standard Nomad concierge email for my upcoming stay this weekend. The email states that the Nomad Bar opens at 5pm on "even nights". No idea what qualifies as an event night, but I thought I would share that info

Guessing that's when there's a show on at the Dolby and perhaps even at T-Mobile.

THIS>>>. It was actually listed as "permanently closed" on google until recently for MONTHS. Now it shows open Friday and Saturday nights only - but I was there numerous times in November and never saw it open for anything except a few private parties associated with F1. Its not much of a loss, when it was actually open it was pretty bad. The drinks were only slightly better than the service, which was about as on par as what you would expect from a crematorium. Incredible that they let the location just sit there closed though.. prime location in the casino to have always shuttered.

The fact they let this lay dormant is WILD to me. A mid range place could be a cash cow there and would add a little more life to the casino as a whole.

I was referring to the ParkMGM rooms, not NoMad. Sorry if that got lost in context somewhere. I don't have anything bad to say about the NoMad rooms.

No worries. I agree with you that the NoMad rooms are pretty busy (although I did not stay overnight in one, only visited), but IMO it is certainly a cue that the Parkmgm rooms can take a little inspiration from.

NoMad has become one of our faves. We are in a NoMad King as I type this. Service is a cut above Park MGM. Rooms and amenities are superior. We love it here and are sad to hear it will be changing.

I heard they were going for a more positive approach... it was changing to "YesHappy" ;)

    https://stories.hilton.com/releases/hilton-acquires-majority-controlling-interest-in-sydell-group-to-expand-nomad-hotels-brand-worldwide

Hilton is acquiring a controlling interest in Nomad. Buried in the release is this:

So things are changing, but not for any public negative reason as far as I can tell, and it just looks like a rebrand and nothing more, as least for the hotel part. (Not sure what will happen to the bar).

The real question will be which of Hilton’s properties in Las Vegas will they Rebrand as Nomad after MGM gives up the name.
