I mostly get it, but if you're going to staff a bar in HL...why not put in $1 VP and slots?

I will defend the Nomad HL room and wrote about it in my HL room list last year. I didn't address it there, but I assume the location of the HL room is where it is at because its close to the elevators and there is a separate entrance from the Nomad lobby. That's pretty consistent with how the bigger resorts try to make it convenient for their biggest players to reach the tables quickly and easily (Mandalay Bay has the separate Palm room elevator; Bellagio has its room next to the penthouse suites elevators; Aria has theirs next to the skysuites; Wynn ahs theirs next to the Tower Suites; and the Mansion makes you walk through the HL room to get anywhere else inside the resort)

Just a guess, but I suspect its because table players don't always want to hear the sound of machines close by while they are gambling. In addition to the Aria HL not having bartop machines at its HL bar, nor does the Mandalay HL, the MGM Grand HL, the Palazzo HL (though I haven't been in the remodelled room yet). Cosmo has a couple machines at the bar in their HL, but I feel that's just a relic of the days when their HL tables and slot room shared one space (and they at least had the sense not to put machines in at the Talon Room bar)

I think it encourages a different vibe when there are machines at the bar. People in Aria HL are either gambling at the tables, or drinking/lounging; there aren't people sitting solo playing VP for long stretches of time. I don't think the sound of machines is so much of an issue, as it's barely noticeable (at least to me) when configured properly, but having just the tables makes it seem more like a lounge where there's also gambling, rather than just another casino VP bar.

I've definitely heard that sentiment from other people, that you're basically the biggest player in the casino when you're at NoMad. I just personally don't like the open layout, but that's solely my preference. You see a similar thing at Aria where even people who you'd think would be playing in HL ($500+ blackjack, for example) are nonetheless out on the main floor because they prefer the vibe. Whereas other people I know want to be holed up in a corner in Bellagio HL with nobody around them.

The Little Fanatic loves Nomad! He gets a tub to play in (where mom and dad can actually watch him from the bedroom), a pool table he schemes ways to climb upon, random books as decor that he can pull off shelves and turn pages, Eataly where he gazes upon a giant display of desserts, weird Lady Gaga costumes that always catch his eye, air he can safely breathe, dog statues in the lobby, and a choice of multiple pools (including the Nomad pool where he is the youngest patron by a couple decades, lol). But seriously, they do give him a coloring book and colored pencils at the Nomad checkin each time we stay there. He really does love that

booked the Atelier suite and then a Grand suite at Nomad for the next couple of visits

looks like there are a couple of higher suites but they don't show up through the corporate offer
after the F1 madness, I'll email the host and see if she can put me into something higher, just for the heck of it

So my takeaway from this: if I want to try the roast chicken at Nomad Library, I better get on that?

Pretty sure that is a NoMad feature they had in the hotel, so, yeah, it will rebrand in some way

FWIW, I think there is only one suite higher: the royale suite. It has a one bedroom and two bedroom variety. You can see pics of it in some of my old TRs if you are curious

Grand Premiere and Nomad Suite seem to be the highest tier rooms at Nomad

There's a Royal and Royal Premiere Suite as well, which they don't list on the MGM site for reservations. You can see it on the Nomad site though (https://www.thenomadhotel.com/las-vegas/rooms/). Even the Nomad Suite, I had to get a host to book that for me, as it wouldn't show online.

Would hate to see this happen. Nomad is one of my favorite properties on the Strip.

Yeah, as mentioned, you cannot get a royale suite without a host booking it (or at least it used to be that way). My host told me they only have two of them. I am not sure if she meant two of each (the one bedroom and the two bedroom) or one of each layout for two total suites.

I found some pics tucked in the middle of one of my ongoing saga TRs: https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/may-adventures-a-live-report-with-a-meh-title.183913/page-18#post-2229819

    The chicken was very good.
I had always assumed Nomad was just the name/brand...

Hopefully they don't do a demo of the Nomad areas.
I could see MGM trying to stuff more retail in...

Also agree the front desk staff have been very helpful.

That food truck seems like an odd design choice. Does it look like what is in the Link?

I’ve stayed in the Atelier and the Grande suites. Nothing special…

The lobby is the only thing I like about Nomad.

I'm hoping it stays more of a hidden gem. The few posts I see about it on Twitter are people hating that it is non-smoking. Which is fine for me, keep the smoke away. Then there are those who I have talked to about Vegas and they have no idea it exists! I say ParkMGM and they think MGM Grand.
