Man I am grateful for my friends - we go 2/3 times a year and generally plan the next trip on the flight home.

    Nobody has dropped out yet.

    Variety is fine.
Friends/family trips, more dinners & shows etc.
    Solo trip, I play more.

My most recent Vegas buddy got a girlfriend so he wants to use his vacation time to go places with her. I understand and in some ways am happy to do a solo trip. My brother almost volunteered to go with me on the next trip but realized he was letting the beer talk. Truth is I'd rather go do something different like Europe with him.

Personally I wish it had worked out with the woman I was dating last year. One reason is I think she'd be happy to lie by the pool while I gamble and then we can go out at night. Maybe I should give her a call!

That has been my experience. My friends were all about it for a couple trips or so but then it waned off. I think this is natural as they don't keep up with all that is Las Vegas as we do and don't really recognize a need to return. Luckily for me my interest in taking friends has waned as well! I am now of the preference that either a girlfriend goes with me or I will just meet up with some board members or peeps I already know in LV.

The guy who went to LV with me the most had to bail due to financial reasons. I even used points and freebies to get him on one trip but now he can't afford the gambling money. It's a total shame. Luckily, I still have at least one guy who will go no problem, and we've gotten a younger guy involved and until he gets married he is always ready for a trip. Warning: If you are 50, do not try and keep up with a 25 year old in Vegas.

My wife used to go with me once a year but she got tired of the whole excess of the town. She gambles as much as I do, but she just prefers to do it elsewhere now. She's got no problem with the yearly guy trips so she's a keeper

I really think a LOT of the value is gone in a Vegas trip compared to 5-10 years ago. This alone might be one of the biggest factors that people don't return as often as in the past.

My outlook is different. I avoid people who want to go to Vegas with me. Everyone who knows me knows I am a Vegas lover. In my early Vegas years (the 90s), I went to Vegas with an "I want to go to Vegas with you" person and I vowed never again! A couple years later, I took someone I was dating and as soon as we returned home, I broke it off.

So, 95% of my trips are solo. If I am not taking my Mom or am not with my sister and binlaw, I AM SOLO! And I love it!

I don't agree lot's of people don't care or lose interest in Vegas
but still don't judge or confront you unless they think you're getting yourself in a hole financially
my mom knows I'm not "playing with the rent money"
but gives my single cousin the 3rd degree every time he came out last year and for PT's MLK party

Interesting you said the part about going with a S/O. I've been on several trips with friends and now I just don't have that desire to bring friends out unless they're really into it. Otherwise, me and the wife enjoy Vegas.

The more I think about it, the more a solo trip would hit the spot. I go twice a year, they're (my friends) are good for one of the trips, the other one I will fly solo or bring my dad. I make sure I bring my dad in Nov/Dec or January, he's in his 70s and probably would not appreciate the heat!

If you have to have a problem with something and you have a lot of money, gambling isn't the worst choice. A wealthy person with a drug addiction may very well wind up dead after a weekend of partying. A wealthy person with a gambling addiction on a weekend bender will wind up in a Wynn Villa, eating food prepared by some of the world's best chefs, playing golf, and generally having an amazing time. The losing part sucks, but hopefully the experience makes up for it and you have enough self control to not wind up like this guy.

Ive done trips with friends here and there, and they never come back LOL...

    So yes I notice it.

I think most people just want to experience it once or they have not been in 20 years and want to go again. Me....I cant get enough. So much to do. I love the 24/7 vegas has to offer.

I'm starting to think this way too...I rather meet up with VMB people in Vegas than bring my friends that don't like to gamble....going solo is the best!
