I am staying in a Monaco Suite in August for 6 nights. I've never been there, but the main reason I chose to upgrade was for the mini fridge in the Monaco that was not available in the deluxe strip view. I did not realize that the Monaco suites were lower floors with no strip view. I hope I made the right decision.

This isn't totally true. Just stayed there a couple weeks ago and had a strip view, though the hotel is set back from the strip so it isn't anything amazing

No problem. I think I would actually rather have a low floor w/o a view because you can still pickup their Wifi from the first 2 levels of the hotel. It's still stunning that a decent LV hotel doesn't have property-wide Wifi in 2014. I saw a lot of people on their phones, tablets, and laptops down in the food court and starbucks as a result

I stayed at MC in early June in a standard High Deluxe strip view room, 2 queen beds, and it was fine. Sure it could use an update; but it was clean and didn't have any weird smells.

The view was of the strip was OK; but you are pretty far back and you are looking down at a roof full of A/C units.

We weren't in the room except to sleep and I would stay there again. The casino was pretty nice, lots of good bars/restaurants, the Tram is very convenient, and the pool was great.

For the money I was very happy with the unit. I'm sure you will have more people complaining online compared to those with a + experience.

That reminds me I am way behind on my trip report! :ssst:

Just booked the Diamond suite for November. Looks nice enough. I'm fairly easy to impress when it comes to hotel rooms though, so i'm sure i'll have no issues. I enjoyed staying at the Luxor a couple of years ago, even though many people trash it. Still hoping I can book a couple of nights in a regular room through myvegas and split the cost between the people in my party. Came out to about $120 per night. Not too bad i guess.

To my knowledge, the Monaco, Spa and Diamond suites are located just off the elevators on all floors. Not sure where the "only lower floors" business is coming from. Regular room is 400 sq ft, Monaco and Spa are 700 sq ft one big room. Diamond is 800 sq ft suite with separate bedroom. I have stayed in all of the suites. My last stay in the Diamond was May of last year on the 22nd floor and it had good wireless internet. I was told that it was because it was in the core of the building (where the wings meet just off the elevators) and they have wireless running there. That may or may not be true.

Monaco has the half bath as you enter the room, a sofa in front of the TV, a refrigerator and a dining table with two chairs as well as a desk. The bathtub is a combo with shower and it is also a jetted tub. There is a door on the toilet for privacy. It is actually a nice set up and is quite affordable. Last Monaco I was in, June 2011, the furniture had many visible repairs, but the bed was very comfortable.

After being told in December by a pit boss (who called someone to find out) that it was to begin this year, I was told during May (while staying in Hotel32 that the remodel may be put off to coincide with the opening of “The Park”. They were going to let me see the test models, but because they had decided not to use them at this point, they rescinded the invitation.
