I have found a good code for the Monte Carlo for a High Floor deluxe room for 3 nights 9/1-9/4 total $121.50 or a Monaco Suite for $189 for the same 3 nights. The offer includes $75 food and bev at The Pub. Looking for suggestions as to whether the take the deluxe room cheap and ask for upgrade or just go for the suite. Never stayed at MC, so any advice would be appreciated.

Don't really think any suite at MC is worth it. Maybe slightly more space whatever that's worth, but you won't utilize the furniture etc, it's all old and outdated. MC is an adequate room, but not worth splurging on. Put that extra $60 on black :)

Is view important? If yes, go with the high floor strip view room. Do you like to have separate shower/tub and a sofa? If yes, Monaco suite. Monaco suite will be a lower floor facing away from the strip. We like room and sitting areas so we always pay for a suite. I love the MC but I do admit the furniture is getting a little rundown....scuttlebutt is that all the rooms are supposed to get redone this year. Decide what is more important to you...we are all different. The price you quoted for 3 nights IMO is great.

Starting to get a little worried. Keep hearing negative comments about Monte Carlos room :-( Staying in Sept for 14 nights.

    Are they that bad?

I guess it depends on what your definition of "that bad" is. :)

I stay there almost every trip because they give me good deals. Last time I moved from Mirage to MC and noticed a distinct difference in the room quality. But MC had a keurig so I was happy there. :)

I think the rooms are comfortable, but the furnishings are showing some wear. I wouldn't suggest you change if you like the location and the price you're paying.

I stayed at MC and Luxor in June. Both are fine, but the pool scene is HOPPIN' at MC! You asked about the room...it's a very good value Hotel! Don't expect Bellagio and you'll be fine. Free tram to Bellagio too, with a stop at Crystals Mall. I'd stay at MC again if offer is right!

We like MC, but as all said the rooms are getting tired, not as tired as Imperial Palace/Quad, but like the other poster said, dont expect Bellagio and you will be fine.

Bathroom is functional, but not fancy by any stretch, could use an uplift to make it look less "cheap"

For the price and location it is perfect for us...I would stay again for a good deal...
Indoor walk to Aria, Tram to Bellagio, easy walk through Aria to Cosmo and then continue on to Bellagio too...then out Bellagio to Ceasars...easy

Stayed at MC last month and had the high floor strip view, which truth be told isn't that great a view as far as strip views go. Having said that the room was fine. Yeah, they're getting a little old but nothing overly concerning. I quite like MC for the location and while it isn't the most 'exciting' hotel it does enough things right for me to stay there again. Pool is ok, the food court is good, tram to Aria/Bellagio convenient. I kind of like what they did with the frontage too. Kind of opened up the space a bit. Rates are generally decent for its type, so yeah don't be too concerned with the negative comments. JMO.

MC is fine. It's where I stay most trips. Two of last three this year. My comment was simply I wouldn't splurge for a suite.

Thanks for all comments. We have previously stayed at Bellagio, NYNY and Mirage. All were great especially Bellagio (as expected - was our honeymoon). I do not have massive expectation for any hotel as long as clean and has all the essentials. I like location, tram and the pool size. Been in and out of MC on all 3 trips and like the size of casino and it looks like not a massive trek to lifts.

As you said above some ppl think they can pay MC prices and expect the Bellagio standards so would never be happy with somewhere like MC. Will try the $20 trick as it worked at NYNY and Mirage (as I tried it they times rather than Hubby - lol)

plus we don't spend much time in room as when u travel from the UK (even after 3 other trips) u want to enjoy all that is Vegas and a rooms just for necessities.

Was just wary with previous threads and we have been looking forward to this trips for a while (Plus we have recommended it to others who have booked MC and are traveling with us - due to their budget)

    Thanks again

Someone above mentioned that the Monaco suites have a separate tub and shower. I was under the impression that to get a separate tub and shower at Monte Carlo that you had to upgrade to a spa suite or larger. Even the Youtube videos for the Monaco suites show a standard tub/shower combo.
Can anyone confirm the bathrooms in the Monaco suites?

We stayed in a Monaco Suite last June. The tub and shower were one unit. The suite does have a separate half bath just as you enter the room. I like the Monte Carlo and will stay again.

Fishercat is correct. We stayed in one in January. Although we didn't use it, the tub was jetted.

We stayed in a Diamond suite last year (Halloween week). The window faced South, so we saw the back of NYNY and the southern strip in the distance. The room was ok with a separate bedroom and had a powder room in the living area as well as the bathroom in the bedroom.

The bed was not too comfortable, but was not uncomfortable enough to disturb sleep. The furniture was not particularly comfortable and was well worn, but not gross or anything like that. The furnishings were pretty much what you'd see in any three star hotel, but definitely ready for a refresh. In fact, when we checked in, they showed our room initially as offline. The guy at the desk told us that many rooms were scheduled for a refresh but kept being booked so much that it kept being pushed forward. I don't know if any of the refreshing has been done or not.

We actually like the hotel and staff quite a bit and got a good price on the suite. Our problem is just that we mostly hang out around Mirage, TI and Harrah's, so we'll be staying further North this year.

I think if you just stay in your room to sleep, shower and change, MC standard rooms are more than fine. Recently stayed there and I was very statisfied. Also used the 75$ credit and it works fine at the pub. The only thing is that tips are not included in the credit. On the otherhand, the society discount gives you all day long happy hour. So nice beers for 4$.. just think of howmany free beers that will be with your credit :evillaugh

I stayed in January and it is very "functional" as a place to sleep and shower. The room was clean and quiet and everyone was very nice. Downside to the room: wifi was not good, tv was not good, cell reception was not good.
If you want the best view, ask for a high floor facing aria. Great view at night at night.

The Monaco Suite is worth it for that price, versus the standard room. Here's why:
    1. Their standard rooms are very small and are set up like a standard budget hotel
    2. Monaco Suites are all near the elevator banks and ice machines
    3. Monaco Suites have a lot more room to spread out with luggage, computer, tablet, book, etc.
    4. Monaco Suites have an extra half bathroom in case you need to destroy a toilet while the other is in use

    Downsides/negatives:
    1. No property-wide Wifi, but you'll encounter that in any room, unless you have a very low floor
    2. Monaco suites have an adjoining room door, which I don't really understand. The sound barrier between those doors is essentially non-existent

For me, I would never stay in a standard room there. It feels like a shoebox. It's absolutely worth the extra $20 to have that extra space, extra bathroom, and no walk to/from the elevator and ice machine

MC rooms are bad...no two ways to say it. My room in march was horriable. But help is on the way. Room remodel start late this fall..rumor has it.

The bed was good but the furnishings where sparse. Had one chair and a table, desk and a bed. I'm a mlife fan boy but wont stay there till the rooms are redone.
