I'm waiting for a confirmation that total cost actually means total cost to. I just looked at booking a Full Size through Dollar for two days in April for $21.69/day then a $3.00 credit for a grand total of $40.38. Under the total cost there is a Taxes and fees link that says "Taxes and fees total 0.00"

Every other site I've looked at is at least twice that amount.

    I'll keep my fingers crossed.

    :peace:

Just booked for the 3rd week in January. Got $21.00 a day all taxes and fees included.

I tried checking the confirmation number on Dollar's website but the confirmation number wouldn't work. I called Dollar direct and the CS agent said that the reservation was made via a third party (TR Getaways I'm guessing).

He gave me Dollar's confirmation number and I was able to check it using their automated system. The price quote says including all taxes and fees.

As promised, here's the update. I picked my car at dollar today at noon PST. The line upstairs was very long, however since I signed up for dollar express, I was able to use the small kiosk located downstairs where only one person was in front of me. Even though my reservation wasn't linked to the dollar express account, he gladly helped me.

    So.. Drum roll please....

Absolutely no extra charges when picking up my car and the estimated charges show as $0.00 on my receipt. They even upgraded me to a Mid size for free. I had booked compact.

SWEET! Smart move signing up with dollar express - nothing worse than having to wait in that line upstairs. I used to be able to slip the guy downstairs a $20 and he would just say "Pick any car you want" and away I would go.

Now go and have a winning trip!

    Awesome! Thanks for the update.

I'm booked now 4/2-4/4 for a total cost of $40.38 for a full size with Dollar.

They told me That they cannot link prepaid/3rd party reservations, but you should still be able to use that counter as I did today.

If you don't yet have a Tr Card, you can apply on-line and print a temporary card. My friend just did that and got a Maxima for $125. all in for a week in May. We will meet them there but arriving a day sooner and leaving earlier. My May rental is a Maxima, Sat-Friday, $109.
Hope this sticks around for a few years!

By the way, I was not asked my TR card when picking up the car.

Really glad I found this thread. I had booked a deal thru Southwest for what I thought was decent, 6 days full size thru Alamo for about $240 total. Using the TR site, I got a Maxima for 6 days from Thrifty for $106!

CODINGKW...My rentals are both with Dollar. Thrifty is the same price as I think they're affiliated.
They going to have to buy more Maximas lol

I looked them up yesterday and got some really great prices on rental cars in other cities too -- midsize in Phoenix for supposedly $20 all in -- Phoenix charges ridiculous fees & taxes (usually way over $20 a day) So I'm waiting to hear the experience once someone does their car rental through TR in Las Vegas to be sure that it really IS an all-in price.

They have pretty good deals on hotels too. When I look at hotels I'm told that I have $250 in credits for some reason. Amount of "credits" you're able to use depends on the price of the hotel. One for $146 let me use something like $35 in "credits" and knocked it down to $111. Not bad if this all really works...
