I have both an IPad and a 15" MacBook Pro/Retina... I've never quite warmed-up to the I-Pad... things I can do on it, I can do on my IPhone. I seem to always take the laptop, as I'm there mostly for business and have to return a lot of e-mails. I have a hard time typing quickly on the phone or IPad. Besides... the porn looks way better on the bigger screen!

ARe you mental or what?!? Porn looks AWESOME one the iPad!

Seriously though, there is something I find very easy on the eyes about the iPad retina display. I actually enjoy reading emails and VMB on it more than I do on my laptop. And the trump card is the ability to just close it up and take it with me as I move from place to place, chair to couch, oh and not to mention the ease of reading on the toilet :ssst:

After putting off purchasing an iPad for years I can say it is the best consumer purchase I have ever made. I will never even look at a laptop again.:peace:

I take both 90% of the time.

Too many things on laptop that are not on Ipad... files, spreadsheets, etc.

Ipad for plane for sure, and just hanging out in room.

Have you considered iCloud or Dropbox? I'm starting to think about these. Said I never would but ...

Cool, I love my iPad. I have taken my iPad on at least 5 trips and have NEVER had to take it out when going through security. I just leave it inside my tote.

iPad for me as well. You can't beat the size. I can remote into my work and home machines, if I have to.

I have never been asked to remove it in security, it just stays in my carry-on.

Since I bought a Bluetooth keyboard / cover for my Ipad it's all I carry on trips.
I have had TSA agents tell me to take out / leave in my Ipad. I just pull it out and throw it in a basket with my shoes. Doesn't take much time and saves some hassle.

I'm now iPad only. I'm not important enough to have to do anything for work while I'm on vacation, although I log into my work email just to delete garbage messages. I take mine out of my backpack, I really don't want to have to deal with some TSA employee with delusions of godhood. I enjoy waking up, grabbing the iPad, listening to music and checking facebook, news, and other sites like I would at home. I brought my own wireless router last trip, since Luxor doesn't have wifi yet in all their rooms.

My last computer purchase was a 10" netbook. Nice and small, and easily fits in my briefcase ... I take it everywhere.
