I believe that Kevin guy said all offers do not pay resort fee and they would work on the wording to explicitly state that to avoid any confusion. Can confirm the fee offers I’ve used I have not had to pay resort fees. You could also call reservation line to confirm as I did that just to double check
As a previous poster just stated, unless it is 100% clear as day that resort fee is required - then resort fee is comped. There isn't any chance for confusion on if they are owed or not for the offers that do require resort fee. Hope you all come check out the pool soon, they did a great job! -KS
Thanks for everyone's quick responses! My big concern is on the printed offer that arrived in the mail-- in the fine print-- is the sentence "A complimentary resort fee is available for qualified Rio Rewards members." Seems like uncertain language to me, and like I said after not being there for years I doubt I'm "qualified" which makes me wonder if there will indeed be resort fees. Looking back, I do remember only playing at The Rio for a couple hours at a combination of Bierhaus slots ("Heidi!") and bartop VP, but certainly not at high levels or longer than a couple hours, and this had to be 4-5 years ago. Seems too good to be true, especially after never getting a mailer until just now? And 5 nights, not just 2 or 3? Maybe I'll call and see what is said. I do appreciate the offer and do want to check out the revived property some day!
@Rio_Chief_Gaming_Officer I have a question.. I'm a local & stayed with Rio 04/22-04/26 did around $25k coin in & became Gold. Was told by host that my FrioPlay would be between $500-600 after 72 hours. 72 hours have passed & I received my normal offer for only $80 FrioPlay. Would it be possible for someone to look into that?
If you want to DM me your name/Rio Rewards number, I'll happily take a look. I'd start by saying I wouldn't trust a host to know what a future offer would be, but I'd also ask if that was the first time you played with us? If you had been coming consistently and this was the first time you played up to that level, you don't instantly start receiving offers based just on your most recent day/trip. It is an average of your play over a certain amount of time. So if you had been consistently doing $1000 coin in a week/visit for several months and then just did $25,000 coin in... it's the average over a period of time. -KS
@Rio_Chief_Gaming_Officer Not sure how to DM on here, as I cannot find that option. But my Rewards # is: 1001803 & same name as on here. Thank for looking into it! @Rio_Chief_Gaming_Officer I've been playing with Rio consistently as I'm a local. Thanks for the explanation! Not sure why a host would tell me that info in that case, as it's misleading.
To DM someone, you click their name and their profile will popup. Then select start a new conversation. And you prepare it like an email with a subject line and body of email. Then scroll to bottom and select start a conversation (that’s kinda like the send button).

I haven't visited since December and my offer went up from 3 comp nights to 4 comp nights. That's nice! Making it awfully hard for me not to consider them for a summer visit.
I ended up calling regarding my offer (“5 complimentary nights” mailer) and asked about resort fees and was assured that “all fees and taxes are complimentary.” I booked it and got a confirmation via e-mail immediately, showing a $0 cost. I only needed 2 nights and was told I am forfeiting the other 3, but that’s OK with me. Looking forward to checking out The Rio 2.0!
Seems like forfeit is a weird word for them to use. Forfeit as in, you can't split off the other 3 nights and book them separately for another trip within the offer period, OK. That's the old Cosmo model, one offer at a time. But if you were to call back tomorrow and say you changed your mind, you want 5 nights (in a row) instead of 2, I'm pretty sure they'd do it.
I'll be staying at Rio soon before a 3 night stay at Caesars. Interested to see how it is. No offers from them but I'm a globalist with Hyatt so the cheapo rate + night credit combined with free breakfast at Hash House made it a no brainer because I'd go broke gambling 4 days at Caesars. It's been 5+ years since I've played there so I'm curious to see what has changed. Wish they did offer matching but oh well. Never stayed in a room either but from what I hear they treat globalists pretty good with upgrades so I should get a renovated room at the least.
Just happened to log into URComped to upload some offers and got a Rio offer. Submitted a request to see if I qualify, and if so, I’ll happily give Rio a try.
Rio does do offer matching. Many members here have done it. Will Rio match offers from other loyalty programs? Rio may extend offer matches to our guests in order to experience our new loyalty program and soon to be fully renovated Ipanema Tower rooms. To request an offer match, either bring a physical mailer to the loyalty desk for review or forward emails with offer information from other Las Vegas casinos, resorts and hotels, along with desired stay dates to [email protected]. An offer match is not guaranteed, and official rules can be found at the Rio Rewards desk after October 1, 2023.
Rio matched a Wynn offer I received and the process was pretty smooth. I was impressed. It was a large amount of free play and so there were points milestones associated with accessing all of it. I decided as things weren't going well with the initial free play + some of my own cash that I wouldn't spend more $$$$ to earn many more points to get the rest of the free play. I was impressed, however, with the customer service from the beginning to the end of the process so no complaints (other than my being at the bad end of VP variance and the slots I was playing being tight).
Interesting. No idea why I thought they didn't match but I have a good amount of FP at Caesars next weekend so if they match that I'd be happy. I almost wonder if they'd comp the room as well based on said offer but it's only like $80 and I get the Hyatt stay credit anyway.
