That's the rate for nights after you max out on comp nights. That used to be the rate you'd see if you made a reservation for more than 4 nights on an offer (it didn't matter if the room was $10 or $1000 after capping out comp nights on an offer there was a deep discounted rate shown). Do you have any future reservations booked at any MGM property?
The $9 Excalibur and $14 Luxor rates became comp rates once I cancelled reservations and brought my total future reservations to 2. Once I booked another reservation so I had 3 future reservations, the $9 and $14 rates came back.
I have 2 reservations with a total of 8 nights atm. Hmm.. I used to be able to book like 7-8 reservations without seeing the odd rates showing up.
Once you cancel a reservation, do those dates get blocked with high rates instead of going back to comp?
Yeah, that appears to be the recent change that MGM rolled out, capping nights on a system wide basis rather than a property basis. Probably to crack down on FP abuse.
Nice, it works for me now. They really limit the number of future reservations down to only 2 now, lol.
Ok, found a bug. Once you cancel a reservation, they are unblocked from the migrated hotels, but the non-migrated hotels(Bellagio and MGM) are still blocked. Once they migrate these last two hotels probably next week then this bug would resolve itself, but how did QA not catch this? Lol
I max out at 2. Once I have 2 reservations, then I start to see those odd rates showing up again if I try to do 3. I guess this is by design now.
So if you have 2 reservations, when you try and book the third it doesn’t show comp rates. Is that what I’m gathering from the masses?
When MGM rolls out these kind of major behavior change to their reservation system, why couldn't they communicate to their users regarding the new limitation. But we have to figure it out ourselves by messing with the booking engine?
They probably don’t want to advertise you can book 2. Most people that aren’t as avid Vegas travelers probably don’t realize you can book it twice.
So I have 3 reservations booked. Sometime between last week and this week (guessing 5/1) a Delano suite I booked now shows as not comped at all. So I’ll get clarification on that but last time this happened I was assured by my host that the stay showed comped still on their end and it was. So we’ll see about that one… But I can look up and book comped rooms at this point also, even rooms on the same dates as my other bookings (including the Delano suite that I show as non comped now). So, who the hell knows…
Probably too much work to make it work correctly across the divide and they just figured they could live with it.
I'm not surprised they didn't say anything in advance but I'm a little suprised nothing has leaked out yet except about the freeplay. They may never officially say anything about it. I emailed member services a couple of weeks ago and got no response, usually they would send some reply even if it didn't directly answer the question.
H Host booked reservations are treated differently in the system so I think the updates messed up the pre-existing reservations. Mine also went to showing a cost due at checkin, I called and they confirmed it was taken care of.
I will give 1 more data point. I have a habit to book 3-4 dates around the month I am going to be there and then when I know my exact weekend I cancel the others. This has not been a problem until now. I cancelled all but 1 of my reservations and now the comp dates are back at all but 2 MGM hotels.
So I just emailed one of my host and booked two week apart slot tournaments in August. Full comps full Everything. So it looks like they don’t want me Not to have a place to stay and not to be able to eat or drink and not be able to feel good gambling a little bit of their money too….. bless their hearts!
