Just wasted over an hour looking up retail prices for my 10 Vegas reservations + 1 in Biloxi. Total comp value was $40K for Vegas ($2.5K Biloxi) Biggest surprise was how insanely expensive Aria has become! I had to use a host to book a Mandalay Horizon Suite but it was only 1/2 the price of the Skysuite I could have self-booked…
I just asked my host the same thing. She said there was no issue with giving my full offer benefits for the tournaments she booked for me. I am sorta expecting to hear differently at check in though-
Thank goodness I threw down all those bookings at the very end of April!! I was expecting my own (lack of) play to be the limitation, not a systemwide change. I did cancel one booking and switch it to CET (Cromwell, weekdays ) but I still have six comped bookings in at once right now. Hopefully, they don’t go back in and remove those after the fact…
I have four bookings, and noticed the $9 and $14 rates on all dates of properties that used to be comp on my offers. I did not notice any change in my reservations in terms of not showing comp, but I did notice that the resort fee when I check the reservation is the higher one now than the original booking. It doesn't matter much because I'm mgm gold now, so hopefully they remove those at check in, but it's not great that I can't plan ahead more than 2 trips now. I'm not sure why they would want to push players to book ahead at competitors instead...
My understanding is that the casino has internal rates for the Comp value of each room. It's.constant and doesn't change from day to day (weekends are a touch higher). Nevertheless, it's much cheaper than whatever the public rates are.
Absolutely, but that doesn’t remove the RC or the value (to me) of the comped rooms. For context my current offers come from a concentrated GIAD play day that is highly unlikely to be repeated, so I approached them with a “get it while you can” mindset.
I have been trying to book an end of December trip and no go on the website or app. Crazy….you would think with 890k in coin in this year it would not be an issue. I went ahead and booked my 7* retreat for that one.
It looks as though they might be the lowest base internal rate for each hotel...for like a non busy weekday night. The others I'm seeing are Aria $55, MGM Grand $50, Vdara $45, NoMad and ParkMGM $40, Mandalay Bay $35, and NYNY $30. The rates follow MGM's luxury hiearachy (I can't see Bellagio's because I'm showing full comps for all nights there).
I would prepare yourself to not get the RC after the 3rd trip, if you no-play/low-play. Possibly even the room comp won't be honored. I think MGM is really cracking down on this exact thing.
Heh. Took em long enough. I wonder if they realize the flaw in their system for players with MGM local properties...
I see your point. I was in your camp. However, when my subsequent offers showed up, I noticed there’s a slight decline in FPs, but still too much to give up entirely, so I ended up rebooking. I’m still waiting for our head of science department CVP to show us the way.
You’re a bigger player than me and I’m able to comp rooms at every property incl Aria Tower Suites and Vdara penthouses. Maybe you have exceeded max # of nights or stays?
I've thought that in the past, but I lean towards it not being the actual rate bases on some past folios I've seen. I think the offer algorithm pricing is independent from the casino rate, though I count say for 100% sure.
Yes, I think so too, because the value of the comp would be generated by the casino, and the price of the room would be generated by the hotel. It's the bringing together of these two data sets in context of a possibly new offer structure is what I think might be causing all this mess. Just a guess of course!
I’m pretty sure the rate shown is the rate to add an additional day for a fully comped gambler beyond their offer (which I’m assuming is a heavily discounted rate to the casino rate). It makes sense they would rather have a gambler who is fully comped 4 days in the room for a 5th day at $9 rather than a guy coming in for a convention at $80.
I’m suffering the same issues as many. Still only Bellagio and MGM Grand showing my ‘correct/normal’ fully comped offered. Have booked a remodelled suite at the Bellagio for March 2025, just in case this is the new normal.
Well, according to him earlier in this thread: It was seven trips, plus two more booked by a host after that post with no issue. But he can't book #10 online. So.. make of that what you will.
