Slots Being honest... how do you play?

we go $20 at a time and bet low. and usually give them back everything we win. Its entertainment here, but also probably why we rarely win much.

 

I dont really like the way things are going with the new penny video slots, a few years ago the max bet was $2-3, now it is $5-8, with bigger min bets, rarely play those, but if I do, I play $2-4 per spin. I still like the older video slots Cleo and Cleo 2 are my faves, always play those at max bet. 3 reel $1-$5 always max bet, VP @ .25-$2 always max bet.

 

It's somewhat liberating, though, isn't it? When I go to my local CET, I still keep to a low amount on slots. Unless we hit the Diamond Lounge, we'll play on her card to keep my ADT afloat. It's fun.

 

It is really enjoyable! Its a slow bleed but I think I would have gambling addiction problems if I played to win haha

 

I used to just play what I thought was fun, video slots for a minimum bet. Sometimes I'd go for a progressive on those $1.50 max bet slots, or $2 max bet on Mad Men when it was around. And in Vegas I feed some money into a $5 max bet aftershock and usually do OK.

But my last trip to Vegas was such an a$$-kicking slot machine wise, that I've curtailed my slot play and overall casino visiting considerably. I found one 3 reel double diamond (I think) machine at my local that pays the same percentage if you bet $1 or $2, so I used my freeplay on that and that alone on my last visit. I didn't make much but I didn't feel like a degenerate either.

I'm not sure how I'll play on my next trip. Hopefully I'll play it smart LOL ! I'll probably always donate to my favorites like Game of Thrones, Miss Kitty and Pompeii, but the session definitely gets cut short if I'm not winning.

Interesting thread. I love when slots players give a peek at their real strategies, playing time and bankrolls. I think I could make Diamond in a Day on video poker but I have no idea what a slots only player does to earn this. I'd love to do a slots only trip but I'm afraid I don't have the bankroll or the stomach.

 

And then suckers like me come along and see a machine that paid out $100, looks like a winner ...I want to play THAT machine.
