    My Trip Report

    So.

I went to the bank and bought $2000 US to add to our ever dwindling LV funds. Do you know how much is cost me?

    $5770, possibly more.

    Seriously.

Why? Cause someone JACKED my Vegas stash!!!

    I'm NOT impressed.

I had thrown my leftover Vegas cash in a drawer with my gift cards I had brought back from Palazzo last trip and had some Canadian cash set aside for eventual exchange when needed in the future. I went to the bank last Friday and bought an extra 2k which cost $2700 Canadian, and threw it in with the rest. Upon further reflection, I decided to get some more $ to exchange so went into the drawer to get some Canadian. There was $100 missing. Then I look at my gift cards.....two of the $100 cards were gone! Then I look at my pile of US $......there was only $1400 in total!!!!! That's less than what I even had coming home from the last Vegas trip, never mind the 2k I had put in there! I KNOW the money went in there because the bank teller gave me two $50's which I almost refused due to superstition, but instead figured I'd keep them and use for things other than gambling. The 50's are still there- just LOTS of $100's are gone! Maybe $50's ARE toxic!?

It appears that someone went in and skimmed my Vegas stash rather than just taking everything- perhaps thinking I just wouldn't notice. We've had sitters, kids friends over etc- but really only people that I would consider in my circle of trust, and this drawer was in a private area that neither sitters nor friends should be. More disappointed in the trust aspect than the lost money. In the process of trying to pin down exactly who it was- in any case- I'm pissed.

Now I had to repurchase the 2K at another $2700 + the initial cost of 2700 + the 100 Canadian + the value of the gift cards converted $270= 5770. And, that only leaves me $3400, so still had to purchase more.

I haven't even landed in Vegas and I'm down around 3k! Uh, not a good start!

Well, let's hope that's where the bad mojo ends, and the Slot Gods reward my patience for not shaking down every person, and their residence, that entered our home over the 5 day period in question.

    Anyhoo- onto the good stuff.

I'm heading to Vegas with my sis and BFF once again, staying at Palazzo. We're coming in on the Grazie GIfts Premiere event offer which gives us 3 nights comp, $700 in FP, $100 dining and an invite to the premiere night on the 20th. We will check it out on the 20th but will reserve using our points until the bulk of our play is done as I believe there is a double points earning period while we're there. We are starting off with 247,300 points so we will see where we end up. Last trip we hit Platinum level which gets us limo transport, VIP check-in, and use of the Platinum lounge until the end of next year- happy with those perks.
We also have another $405 freeplay that we can use without a stay over at Cosmo, so will head over there as well!

Otherwise, we are planning a no stress trip prior to the December chaos that always ensues with a house full of kiddo's. Gambling, dining, lots of shopping, and a few martini's thrown in for good measure is about our speed this time. Last trip I didn't do a speck of shopping in defiance of the crappy exchange rate. But somehow it just felt wrong declaring to the customs agent I was returning with zero spending after a three night trip. I'm sure the customs officer was looking at a screen with my past history where they always sent me to the cashier since I'm over my limit. I'm certain he was giving me a hairy eyeball trying to decide if I was lying about the zero spending.

Most of our dining plans are with friends joining us- planning to hit up some restaurants we have enjoyed before like Tao, Lavo, and Jaleo, but also trying Sinatra's at the Wynn for the first time- looking forward to all of it! I think I could really use a Sinatra smash after all the drama this week.........

For gaming, as we are big fans of Buffalo we will be hunting for some of the new versions to give them a go! This is a zero pressure trip since we've already hit our target tier last trip. I have no issue lowering bets if needed to make the BR last. Let's hope we hit some handpays so we don't have to resort to that

Heading out Thursday a.m. Will we recoup our losses, or, could this be our most expensive trip yet between losses and shopping??!!??

I'm almost afraid to find out......

**Update** my son has a loose tooth. The tooth fairy brings our kids a collector coin, value between $20-30 each. I had 2 left in the general area where my Vegas Stash was stolen from. I just checked with the imminent need for them, and they are no longer there. Awesome. Wonder what else is gone. I think I need that martini NOW.:grrr:

Freakin hell! I'm a believer of those you know, skim...those you don't know, take the lot. So sorry to hear of the thievery you have been a victim to. I am sure you will have a great time in Vegas, no matter what, but I'll still pass you some slot mojo to hit some big ones!

That is beyond horrible that someone has been stealing from you. A hidden camera will help find the scum bag.

We had the same problem in our house and my Moms house. My Mom kept saying that money was always missing from her purse when we got together with the rest of the family. We started to not believe her because it was happening after every get together with family, just seemed to exagarated and besides it was all family members we trust. Until one day we had the whole family over at our house for a get together. Caught the sister in law red handed stealing $80 off our kitchen counter. My sister was already on the road home which is a 2 hour drive away, I called her when she got home to tell her what happened she checked her purse and sure enough there was money missing from her purse too. Needless to say that sister in law is not welcome in our house anymore.

We trusted that sister in law whole heartedly, we where all shocked to find out it was her stealing from the family.

Anyway, hope you have a wonderful and winning trip to make up for the loss.

Sadly the skim is definitely those you know...sad! Seems many of us have one of these stories. A nanny cam is not a bad idea.

Vegas is probably the one place Customs believes we didn't shop more readily when we return.

Have a fantastic trip....missing you by a bit again.

Wow, that sucks. Have you narrowed it down to any specific suspects? That's especially bad that it has to be someone from your inner circle...

https://nest.com/camera/meet-nest-cam/ This might be a good way to track things for awhile.

We do know have our suspicions and will keep everyone updated as we have some plans to get it uncovered! LOVE the camera you listed - and a fantastic price too!! I quickly started to realize things like that camera will probably be needed as my kids get older, have more friends over, eventually without any supervision. Such an eye opener, too bad it was an expensive one!

I just installed a home security system and did the electric and camera mounting last night. I am REALLY happy with the product. Full HD night vision cameras, I kind of overpaid for my cameras because I wanted a fully integrated system, but I think there are a lot of really nice cameras available. The technology is amazing. It's really worth the cost and effort for peace of mind, and your point about the kids is one I took comfort in as well. Definitely helps to justify the cost as kids will be getting more "independent" soon.

As for the cash and karma.....I just switched the laundry to the drier, and found 15 cents in the washer, so I believe the worm has turned as they say......mojo is ever so slightly positive.....and will surely build to what I envision is a 5-figure high limit team slot pool handpay....5-figures PER PERSON!

    P.S.---That was 15 cents U.S.!!!! ;)

Well that just sucks missus.....Karma is a bitch, I wouldn't want to be whomever helped themselves to your $$ when karma gets them!

Have a great trip, win a shit-ton, but leave a few "cents" in Vegas for me to pick up in 15 days!

    Cheers B!

    That's sad!
Sad because of the replacement loss, but even sadder that it was probably someone you know.

Well I hope that the handpay gods are with you on your upcoming trip.

    Cheers!

WoW, sorry VegasChic. That really sucks

What is worse is it was someone you know and let in your house.

Hopefully the slot gods will repay you with lots of bonus rounds and Big wins.

I'm not able to go this weekend.

Crazy, since I was in Vegas almost every weekend before this month.

    Best of luck to you.

I'm so sorry that someone broke your trust like that and like others have said Karma will kick in at some point. I've had something similar happen years ago and I know what a sick feeling it can be when someone you know and have trusted does that. Especially since if they really needed the money and came to you and asked for help I'm sure you would have.

You deserve another fabulous winning Vegas trip and I'm looking forward to reading and hearing all about it. See you soon!

So sad about the theft. Many Many years ago my mother-in-law had her jewelry taken from her bedroom jewelry box. This was back in 1980s one of the items was a very thick heavy 18K gold bracelet that my father-in-law was given by a jewelry dealer. He was a customs agent for a private firm and whatever was on the manifest was what was allowed -- they were over by 3 bracelets so the man just gave them away. -- That was back in 1968 or so Hemisfair in San Antonio. It was appraised for over $3000 back in 1980s. There were only a few people - 2 sons, a daughter in law, girlfriend, and one friend that could have taken the items. One of the items was my husband's class ring.

My husband and I escaped the suspect list because he was stationed in California and we were not there. I am 99.9% positive it was one of her own sons -- not that I am saying it was your family -- My brother-in-law is a real piece of work and always has been.
