We had a Superbowl party one year, every person who attended was either a family member or someone we considered a good friend. A very nice pair of noise cancelling headphones went missing that night, we are quite sure we didn't simply misplace them. The loss of them was a bummer but far, far worse was knowing that someone we trusted took them. It's such a kick in the gut.

Those systems are awesome- very good choice to put one in!!

We had one put in our East Coast property when we were having problems with break-ins. Last year we did manage to get a break in recorded. We were able to recover most of the stuff (dumb kids, crashed the car a ways down the road and left everything in it, including a pay stub from where they worked- haha!). They are in the process of being charged but makes it a slam dunk between the video and the paystub!

Otherwise, Mr. VC loves viewing it in the winter months just to see how bad the storms and snow accumulation are- haha!

Totally agree!! Disturbed further because it wasn't left out - i.e.- temptation. You would have had to actively snoop through stuff in an area you shouldn't be to find it!! Sure expect more from a circle of trust!!

We have 2 small safes in our bedroom they are digital code and were not very expensive. One is for my husband's handgun -- we have our 8 yo grandson frequently so it is a must. The other is the same kind it is meant of handguns but we keep all our important papers and vegas cash.

Wow- ANOTHER story of betrayed trust! WOW, can't believe it. So disheartening! Glad you weren't on the suspect list as I think forever it plays in the back of someone's mind if they never figure out who it was. So crazy when it's family though!!! My kids are still really young, none of them in double digits yet. and the location would have been somewhat out of reach for that age.....but I still considered it though- haha!!

I find it so strange that people put higher value on this stuff over relationship! Head phones, so sad! Also now missing from the same area is a new sleeveless black silk dress I had hanging there that I went to get for my trip. I had removed the belt and hung it up, and it is still in with all my belts, so, it's just the dress. Even called the dry cleaners and they confirmed they neither have any of our stuff there, or any unclaimed black dresses. **sigh** At this rate, I better get to Vegas FAST or you will see me trolling the casino's in yoga pants and a pyjama top taking advantage of the free snacks in the lounges in place of my meals. Well, at least I know I have $4.16 in found tito's!!!

 

Eh, the worst thing is we do have a safe, but because of the short duration until I was leaving, I didn't bother. I'm guessing that there was a lot of motivation here and even despite my best efforts, I couldn't get every valuable we own inside it. A thief will take if they want to take!! Totally get it with a break-in, but, the ones you know....grrrrr....

 

I accept that challenge!
