    My Trip Report

This will be my first trip since the weekend before the COVID-19 shutdown. I was at the 10X multiplier in Laughlin and came up to stay at the Cal on my BFFs comp before flying home at o'dark-30. They had started shutting off every other machine that Sunday night.

I am working Friday (our company holiday) in order to take Wednesday off. Also, since my son is 18 and out of school, there is no "pressure" for me to be back. He can learn to cook and fend for himself since he won't be "ready" to come with me for another 2.5 years.

Some details for this trip . . . . I am staying on a "custom" Playstudios comp at Bellagio (no resort fees, no play obligation). I also have a "custom comp" meal at Bazaar Meats on Sunday night. Since Asia is "closed" to US tourists at this time, the "was April" trip was moved to August, and now August seems unlikely. Looks like Americans aren't going to welcome in Europe any time soon, so the October trip will need to be rescheduled.

So, for August I was determined to go SOMEWHERE, and Canada was the next best choice, but the Canadians don't seem to want to open their borders, so I think I've settled on the East Coast, Boston, Atlantic City, and Philadelphia.

Traveling with a BFF who decided to stay at Bally's because it's the closest CET property he could get a comp at that's closest to Bellagio.

I will also have a car, so we may take a trip to Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch, or the M Resort.

It's my BFF, but it's not like we "need" to be hanging out 24/7. We each have our things that we need to do, and if they sync up, fine, if not, we meet up at a scheduled place for meals if scheduled.

So, for food, this is what is tentatively scheduled.

Breakfasts, if we eat, will be mostly at Magnolia's at QQQQ or at the D Grille on my or his comp, or otherwise on our own

Sunday lunch will be at Silverton (BFF's comp)
Monday lunch will be downtown (my/BFFs comp somewhere)
Tuesday lunch we're meeting up with Jason, a local friend of mine at Silverton (my comp). We were scheduled for Lotus of Siam (I even had a reservation for it), but I had a $50 food comp at Silverton which should cover the three of us for lunch.

I have a flight back at just after lunch on Wednesday. Wednesday lunch will be a trip to Jerry's Nugget for Prime Rib to take home. I plan on getting the 48-52 oz. cut, very rare, and have the containers for it.

Sunday - Bazaar Meats (Playstudios comp)
Monday - Sen of Japan (BFF's treat)
    Tuesday - Yellowtail (Bellagio)

I guess this is mostly a Playstudios comp because I'm using the mLife gift cards (for all meals at Bellagio and other mLife properties) that I got through Playstudios.

So, since meals are all comped, more money for . . . STUFF! We have a trip scheduled for the Beef Jerky store. Gus' Jerky in Searchlight will have to wait for the Sept. trip since the lady with the cute voice only works Thursday and Friday . . .:(

So the plan for gambling (since there's NPO where I'm staying) will be one day mLife, one day CET, and one day misc. (downtown, Jerry's Nugget, Red Rock, Silverton, etc.). I will introduce my BFF to Jerry's Nugget and we'll see if he wants to do the "new player promotion" this trip or on a future trip. Heck, since Chicas Bonitas doesn't have any dancers, it's either the Palomino or gambling at Jerry's Nugget . . . .

Well, there it is. If it sounds like I have "overplanned"maybe for some people it's overplanning, but for me, it's not that. I just like to have things to do planned so I'm not sitting in the room watching movies or sitting at a slot machine gambling. I only go for 3-4 days at a time (but 8-12 times a year)

Anyway, thanks for hanging In there with me. it will be a typical Dai Lun TR, with pictures of the food, and descriptions of the conditions.

Nice to be vacationing without having to coordinate any baby sitting. Also could be good for the boy to learn to fed for himself. My kids are over 21 but are willing to come to Vegas only when there is a big show like Maroon 5 or some such event. They prefer computer gaming as opposed to casino gaming.

Have fun with your BFF and enjoy the prime rib. I am looking forward to your trip report as always.

BTW, which level is the Palazzo employment office on? I will be staying there this weekend.

Have a stress free trip! Win big! It’s sometimes nice to get away from the “kids.”

Yes, and as a single parent, you don't know how much I value these "getaways".

Sounds like a lot! Cant wait to see your Bazaar dinner report, and pretty interested in Yellowtail as well. I have a reservation at Bazaar Meat one night but not sure if we're going or not yet, leaning toward no, but we'll see what happens. We'll be neighbors for a couple days too, but I'm working wednesday so I could get there this Thursday morning, and leaving Tuesday morning next week.

Probably as much as they appreciate your “getaways.”

Well, I just got a text message informing me that Yellowtail at Bellagio will not be open on Tuesday, so I made a reservation at lemongrass at Aria. My BFF advised me that "Lemongrass is Thai food for white people", so I cancelled Lemongrass and made a reservation at Spago's.

My daughter has a former classmate friend whose family came from Hong Kong and my daughter was told that "PF Chang's is where they go when they feel like Chinese food for white people."

While it doesn't pertain to this trip directly, there was a scare about my August trip. Yesterday, Mayor Lightfoot of Chicago announced that starting Monday, July 6th, " . . . . . anyone coming to Chicago from states where COVID-19 is surging to quarantine for 14 days". The article went on to state:

"The city ordered the quarantine for anyone who has spent more than 24 hours in the following states before arriving in Chicago: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Utah."

I have a vacation planned (and the plans are in wet cement) to Boston, Atlantic City, and Philadelphia in August, and my outbound flight itinerary changes planes at Midway Airport, so last night I was wondering if I needed to change routes, until I read further in the article . . .

"The order, which will go into effect on Monday, does not apply to people who are at the airport for a connecting flight or driving through the city on their way elsewhere, city officials said."

So, for now, crisis averted. On with the planning for that trip, and on with the planning for Sunday!!

Well, unfortunately, Yellowtail will be dark on the night I was going to try them, so I took the patio at Spago. It'll be the first time I'll get to enjoy the fountain show with music. The last time was at Eiffel Tower. Good view, no sound.

So, I told someone at work that I was going to LV this weekend, and they remarked "I thought you were cutting back". But it wasn't that so much as "the face" that they made. What they fail to realize is that:

    1) for the past 8-10 years I have been going 10-12 times a year (no trip longer than 3 days). So, if I cut back 50%, I'd be down to 5-6 trips a year.
2)I have over $4000 in "saved up" comp money to spend. Money that will eventually "age out" if I don't use it soon.
3)I'm not in the casino 6-10 hours a day, gambling on all of my trips. I do what I need to do, then get out and do something "non-gambling".
4)This is an NPO comp trip (via Playstudios), so the rules are a little different. It's play if/when I want, wherever I want. I plan to spend 1 day at mLife, one day downtown, and I was going to spend one day at CET, but since there aren't any promotions to take advantage of, I don't really see the sense. So the trhird day may be "free for all". . . . Jerry's Nugget, Red Rock, Eastside Cannery, Sam's Town, Silverton, wherever I have comps to "burn".

My BFF and I are on the same page with regard to travel. He will sit in the rear passenger seat while I'm driving, and we will be observing all social distancing precautions. Heck, one of our activities will be trading KN95 masks to see which ones fit best.

Other than that, it will be same-o, same-o. He got moved from Bally's to Paris so he has a little longer walk if he wants to come up to Bellagio. Other than that, It's play where we want to and meet for dinner. I've detailed our dinner plans in the opening post. I'm really looking forward to Bazaar Meats Sunday night.

    Pictures and descriptions to come . . . . .
