    Hey all,

Staying out first night at the GN down town.

I see the website says that the pool closes at 5:00pm. With the Hideout pool closing at 2:00am amongst other pool amenities:
Jacuzzi, H2O Bar, and The Hideout are open until 2:00 a.m.
Jacuzzi hours of operation: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. (Weather Permitting)
Hideout hours of operation: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. (Weather Permitting)

We will be landing at 1:50 and then getting bags and a rental car.

Thinking that getting to the GN much before 5:00 is going to be tough.

So just wondering how promptly they close the main pool - considering that the Jaccuzi is right by the main pool and open later.

    Thanks

I'm actually surprised to hear that. I thought the pool was actually open late. I know that you can pretty much walk out, around, and sit by the pool at all hours.

Vegas pools almost all close down too early, IMO. I like a night-swim in Vegas and that's hard to find.

We stayed at Rio years ago and I was looking at the pool from our room one night and wanted to swim. I went down, the door was open, I swam. An employee came up and said that the pool was closed, but if I was low key, it would probably be okay. That has not been my experience in other hotels. Either the doors/gate is locked, or someone will come out and shoo you away.

In this case the gate to the pool can't be locked as the hot tubs are right there and they are open. Also the pool deck is open: Pool Deck: 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m. (weather permitting).

Just wondering how they make that work?

After the Tank closes, the Hideout pool is still open. To the best of my knowledge, after that time there is no fee to enter the Hideout, but there still is a no one under 16 rule.

Many people hang out down by the hot tub and fire pit. The H2O bar stays busy at night as well. Many times we will go there and relax but many have discovered it and it's not quiet and peaceful any more. lol

Just out of curiosity what is the 'Hideout Pool'?

I'll be there in a couple of days and hope to swim after 5:00 PM.

    Thanks.

The Hideout Pool is a smaller pool up on the 3rd level. It's about 3.5-4 ft deep. During the day it's for adults only -no one under 16 allowed. And during the day there's an admission cost.

I like the Hideout Pool... I stayed at the Golden Nugget Rush Tower several times right after it opened and thought this was a great hangout. The video isn't well-done by any stretch, but gives you an idea of what it's like out there.

I called the GN today and in the summer the swimming hours are until 8:00 PM in the main pool.

I remember being outraged years ago when the pool at Ceasars would close at 6:00PM during the summer months. I enjoy a good nightswim session and Vegas has the perfect atmosphere for it, but most pools seems to close before sundown. I'm convinced that resorts want to herd their guests inside under the hypothesis that they'll start gambling once the pool is taken away. And there's probably some legal nonsense regarding insurance rates for pools which are open during certain hours.

When the Cosmopolitan first opened and they still allowed public access to their pool area, the pool was open late into the evening. I don't know if that's still the case but it's the latest that I've seen an open pool in Vegas for a very long time.

There is a time when you can no loger swim but the bar and gaming tables are open fairly late. Great place to have a nighttime cocktail
