Whoa! You're a small fish, but also getting a cash comp??? Either yours or my definition of a small player is very skewed

News to me on the 50k max at CP--my last few trips have been to Aria--but I'm not surprised. I wonder if PH will let Nate bet $70k+/hand @ Baccarat?!?

I guess I can pay for retail out of my cash comps, but it doesn't feel the same. Just like I guess I can pay 500 bucks a round for golf at the Wynn, but if that's the cost then I wouldn't want to. If it is comped yeah I will have that 5k dollar meal, otherwise I prefer boiling crab or Nevada chicken cafe

UKFanatic I'm only talking about a few Hundred not Thousands.

They will either take if off your points and convert it to cash or use Discretionary Comp dollars. But the conversion really sucks it is like 2-1 or 4-1 from Comp dollars to real Dollars.

My Friend Jeff is able to bet $150k a hand with a $4million CL at Caesar's.

It was funny he keep wanting to bet $250k and they would give him 4 of this Blues back before each hand.

I have heard of players being able to bet $400k a hand but I have never seen it.

I know the feeling. The prices at Wynn is crazy. I had a meal at Wing Lei and Mizumi that was very good but when I got the check I was thinking who would really pay this kind of prices. But at Mizumi this couple across the table from us actually paid their bill in Cash. So I guess some do.
Just like the Greens fee is crazy. I would never pay that to play a round there if I had to pay in cash.

But come on for about 20% of that Bill at Mizumi or Wing Lei I could have the same or Better Meal in a great Restaurant in Taiwan or like you said at Boiling Crab or Nevada chicken is about 1/4 the cost to eat then eating at the Wynn.

It is not the same to sign and say charge it as a COMP than to pay it in cash.

Yum.... Never heard of the place but will definitely need to check it out next time. It's it far from the strip?

Sometimes eating off property can get tricky if solo. If have craving for a bowl of $8 pho, gotta take a limo there and back each way, that bowl becomes $60 to $70 bucks.

If staying more than a weekend, it's hard for me to eat at the strip restaurants because I can't control myself and order too much rich food. Sigh, first world problems....

Nate, might want to check out CP. Not as swank as the Wynn or cosmo, but much easier to get some shopping vouchers for the wife or mother. Not the same as a hard retail comp, but their shopping vouchers cover a decent amount of stores in the forum shops. I would be surprised if the gave you $15k worth off the bat.

Also with front money, most properties are going to give you hell of they give you a percentage up front on what you wire. However that being said, I've never had issues with taking out cash there. But not sure if you ask to take out over a hundred large to play somewhere else, but less than that haven't run into problems. Just say you need some spending cash.

    nate, good luck as cosmo.

that high limit roulette wheel was ripe with 8/11 17/20 last time I was there. :evillaugh

do you happen to keep US bank accounts for your vegas trips? or do you always convert back to Taiwan dollars each trip?

What I would be more concerned about at your play level is the "maximum aggregate payout limit". If it's only $50k, then an ante bet > $100 dings you on a Royal Flush.

    With a $50k payout limit:

House edge at $100 ante with optimal strategy: 2.185% of an ante
House edge at $500 ante with optimal strategy: 3.417% of an ante

Not a gigantic deal, but something to consider. Hopefully your table doesn't have a payout cap though. And the Wizard's "simple" strategy is quite powerful, too many people check down in this game.

Great report so far! Hit a big one!

:wink2:I wonder what would happen at that $2 100-play machine Wynn has?

That would definitely be sweet. And should be a cool $800,000. Tables are the ones with the stupid payout limits. I feel if the casino can't offer the game at higher limits without tweaking the rules further in their favor, then they shouldn't offer that high of limit.

Nate, did you have to wait for a table at boiling crab or did the host pull some strings? Not sure about the Lv location, but the one in Dallas can be 2-3 hours on weekends. I don't live in Dallas anymore, but I go back every trip. You know your host has some pull if they can get you to the front of the line at boiling crab... ;)

Probably a $2 100-play VP machine, so max payout should be $800k but thatt would be a $1000 for every hand ($2 x 5 credits x 100 hands).
