I am flying out to vegas on the 31st. I usually play at Aria, but want a change of scenery. I was thinking about playing at Cosmo, not sure though. Are there a lot of people playing baccarat? I am a young person, but prefer to play with older people. Young people are a buzz kill (I'm a hypocrite).

Just having returned from there, I can report that I was the youngest bac player. There is the high limit room and the talon room. I never saw more than a dozen people total playing bac between the two rooms. It does not have the same vibe as Aria, but it may be what you are looking for in terms of age. Also, the Talon room is more intimate and smaller than the typical high limit room. very different than Aria

As a BJ player, I can report having seen very very few people ever playing baccarat at Cosmo in either high limit on the ground floor or in Talon. Almost all are over 40, Asian, and are taking the game quite seriously. Both places are very nice settings to play in but be aware there just aren't many other players there.

    Thanks.

I'll check it out. I generally like to play with 4-6 others players where we all are betting with each other. It sucks when someone (usually young) bets against the table. I remember a few trips ago at Bellagio HL, my friend and I played with 5 other people (older asian guys 40+). It was one of the best times we had. We were all screaming "monkey" and high fiving.

99/100 times I am also the youngest person at the table. People ask me why I am not partying at the clubs. I simply tell them I'm an old man....

I was at the Cosmo Last week Monday - Wednesday and saw very little play in either the lower level high limit or the talon room. On Tuesday night I walked through the Talon Room and every table was at $500.00 minimum and there were no players. I understand that they are trying to get upper end play but it seems like they are just pricing themselves way too high. I played in 5 other high limit rooms on the strip that night and not a single one did I have problems finding a $100 game.

$500 is the bac minimum in the talon room, but they had $100 and $200 minimum in the first floor HL room this past weekend

What are 'real bad table rules' in Baccarat? I didn't know there were any rule variations at all (other than which side-bets are offered.)

So enlighten us. What ARE the bad rules you can get at a Baccarat table that increase the house edge?

Play a bac table in an East Coast casino or if you are in Vegas play at Monte Carlo or better yet at Caesars. Then play at the MGM Grand, Aria, the Wynncore and the Venetian/Palazzo. If you feel those table limits are too high then head to Gold Coast. Gold Coast has the same table rules as the Aria et all. Now if you can't tell the difference(s) of the table rules then well maybe bac is not the game for you. Don't feel bad since many table games are not for me either.

To really piss you off play at Casino de Montreal or Casino Rama in Canada. Then you will really appreciate to even the crappy bac conditions at Caesars. Now come to think of it playing conditions all around.

There is no difference between the midi bacc rules at Caesars, Monte Carlo, Aria, MGM Grand, Wynn or Venetian. What are you talking about?

Table rules and baccarat rules are two different issues. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TABLE RULES.

Nothing to do with baccarat rules since they are all the same. You need to play more baccarat at these places. LOL. If you can't tell the differences either, you are also better off with Planet Hollywood 6:5 cleavage blackjack as well.
    :poke:

Oh geez no wonder some +95% of casino patrons help line the pockets of these casinos.

OK, then educate me (and everyone else), what are the different table rules at these casinos. I have played at all of them in the past year (except MC, and played there in the past) and I did not observe any differences. What table rule at any of these tables changes the bottom line wagering? Please name one, just a single "table rule" that changes the rules of the game or the house advantage. I suspect you cannot. The only difference between these tables (as you and other in the thread already noted) is the table minimums. And that has no impact on the HA, so I'm not even sure that qualifies as a "table rule"

You are absolutely correct. People that are saying table rules (different HA) are different at casinos do not know what they are talking about. The only difference I know is EZ baccarat. Only limits are different. All rules are the same unless you play EZ.

I mentioned this many many many many many many many times at various posts regarding baccarat. Hell even WrongWayWade mentioned this at the baccarat patterns thread which to him is an insignificant matter. As insignificant this "little" table "rule" is, it means a whole damn lot.

This table rule is favorable at Wynncore, Aria, MGM Grand, The Cosmo, The Venetian/Palazzo, Harrahs, Gold Coast and sometimes Mandalay Bay. Encore tried to change this rule around 2011 but given the outspoken clientele the rule was reverted back to its liberal stance.

The Monte Carlo and Caesars are idiot casinos especially Monte Carlo.

The only East Coast casinos that have this liberal table rule are Sands in Bethlehem, PA at their high limit tables and the high limit table at the Showboat in AC.

You will just have to look at my past posts to find that answer. That is if you care. If not we will just leave it at that.

LOL. Another one. We are not talking about baccarat rules. They are all the same. Table rules on the other hand is a different matter. Well actually to be exact it is just one rule. This one very rule means a whole damn lot.

So why not just say what it is, rather than being evasive or asking people to trawl through a load of old posts? :rolleyes2:

Agree with Tubbs. What is this magical "table rule" that is different at Wynn, Aria, MGM and Venetian that they do not have at MC and Caesars? I don't read all your posts, so please enlighten us. If you've mentioned this mystical table rule many many many many many many many times over, then what does it hurt to mention it again?

At first, I thought maybe you meant EZ Bac as well. But EZ Bac is not a table rule. Its an entirely different game (its like saying craps and crapless craps are the same games). But your last post above suggests that you're not talking about EZ Bac. And besides, I'm almost certain neither Wynn, Aria or Venetian offer EZ Bac. So what is this rule in place at those certain casinos that somehow gives you a better edge than the rules at MC and Caesars? I stand by my post from last evening: I think you are making this up and cannot name the so-called "table rule" that has any impact on the HA.
