I have never taken a bus before in Las Vegas, but I am determined to become a pro at it this trip! I have been taking notes as I read posts on here, things I've read on the RTC website, and also looking at Google maps. There are just a few things I need clarification on.

I probably sound like a little kid getting on the school bus for the first time since I need all of the specifics spelled out for me. I just want to make sure I have all the information in detail, otherwise I will chicken out.

Please help me fill in the blanks and if any of my other information is incorrect. (As you will see, street names mean nothing to me. I relate locations to casinos.)

WAX ground zero, below baggage claim, out the doors and to the right
WAX bus drops at Tropicana on way to airport
WAX drops at NYNY on way to downtown
WAX drops of at ____________ downtown
WAX picks up at _______________ downtown
***Do northbound and southbound WAX buses pick up at same location? How you know the difference?

SDX ends at 1230am - $8 for 24 hours or $20 for 3 days (price includes #’ed routes)
SDX picks up in between Binion’s and the Fremont
SDX drops off 1 block behind Four Queens, across from GN taxi stand

Deuce picks up across from El Co on LV blvd.
    Deuce drops off ____________ downtown

202 picks up to go westbound on side of Caesars
202 drops off going eastbound on side of Bally’s
***If I am taking the 202 to Gold Coast, I don't see a specific "stop" on the RTC schedule. Do I have to tell the driver where I am getting off or does it actually stop near there anyway?

The buses all have announcements for stops and/or the driver announces the stops. People are generally pretty friendly and helpful. Buses stopping downtown are clearly announced and almost everyone gets off. The FSE is 5 blocks long on Fremont street so is pretty small area and easy to find yur way around. I always stop at the Bonneville Transfer Station and buy a current RTC guide with all the routes and also the pocket guide. Pocket guides are free and on some of the buses. The routes and stops and schedules can be printed from the RTC website I believe.

The SDX does not sell tickets on the bus, just board with your pass or buy a pass from the machine. Monitors sometimes check at the stops and sometimes hop on board and check. It really is an easy system to use. I know because even I can find my way around.

    Thanks for the info!

I am sure I will find it easy once I try it, but for me, the first ride will be the hardest. I have all kinds of plans to get to Suncoast, Gold Coast, and the Orleans. So, once I try it, I am going to have lots of bus experience after this trip! :)

Southbound, to airport or Trop, you pick it up just outside Binion's. Cash accepted on the bus.

Returning to downtown, right outside NYNY on Trop. Cash OK, bus makes ~3 stops before dropping you off across the street from the D. To go north (Suncoast) pick it up at the same location it just dropped you off from NYNY, across from the D.

Check out the shuttles to Gold Coast and Orleans, and the shuttle that goes to Rio. I don't have their present schedule since they are working on Bill's gambling Hall, but it has been posted here and it gives you another option

    casino center.

You will see a bunch of people lined up for other busses.

The wax is the single decker normal looking city bus. The sdx is a fancy looking single decker, streamlined. The duece is a double decker ala duece.

You pay $2 cash money on the wax just like a bus at home. Put the bills in the slot. Just tell the driver where you are going, its not like they have not driven people from the airport to downtown before.

To get to downtown from the Strip, board the WAX on Tropicana Ave. in front of NYNY. It shares a stop with Route 201, which will take you to the Orleans, but not to downtown. Make sure you take the bus that has WAX on the front destination sign when it pulls up so you get on the right bus. To get off in downtown, it will drop you off on 4th Street at Carson across from the D. To head back, walk over to Casino Center to the Binion's stop and the WAX southbound will pick you up there. The n/b and s/b WAX does not share any stops so as long as you're at the correct stop, you'll head in the direction you want to.

The 202 has a stop right in front of the Gold Coast. If you get off at Rio, it's a little bit of a walk, but not horrible. There are actually two stops near the Gold COast, but one is really meant to cross over to the Palms.

The Deuce drops off at several places in downtown: Carson across from Golden Nugget, 4th Street at Fremont Street, and at Neonopolis, which is also where you would board to head back to the Strip.

The fareboxes on the buses can be a little finicky so just make sure your bills are straight so it will go right in the slot. They don't make change, so make sure you have exact fare as well. It will help speed up the process and move the bus along.
