    My Trip Report

Ok this was not my idea for a trip. My wife wanted to go to Santa Fe for some time. Well if it doesnt eliminate any vegas trips..... So what a great place we truly enjoyed our time there. Downtown is great. I found the place incredibly relaxing. Work has been at least 60+ hours a week for the last two years so i think it was great to finally relax.

Ok, downtown great, restaurants great, country side drive great, happy hours more than great.....so what else is there????? Glad you asked.

Every Indian reservation has their own casino. Out last night we stayed at Hilton Buffalo Thunder which is connected with the casino. My wife took a nap and well I didn't. I went down to chase the progressive royal flush. After a while, I hit 4 aces and a kicker on $1 VP. $2000 and a tax form

About ten minutes after getting paid, I hit 4 aces no kicker and quad jacks. Awesome. Trip is free so far.

Went back to the room for a beer and update my dear sweet wife. Of course she is ready to tackle the play after hearing my story. down we go and start at it. Struggle for some time uptil we gave up on progressive and moved to hi limit area triple play.

My wife is dealt three aces. One of the three hands is aces with a kicker. I am playing, taking pictures and I get 2 aces. Play the hand continuing to take pictures when I look down to see aces with the same kicker my wife has on the screen.

What are the chances of that. Now we are playing triple double bonus so the hand pays 4000 credits, same as a royal.

So if a royal is about 45000 to one and hitting two side by side at the same time must be...... a bunch.

Two 4 aces and a three side by side at the same time. I have the picture and will post when my wife shows me how.

We made enough money to pay for the flights, hotels, rental, gas, food and most shopping.

Best free trip since Labor day in vegas just a couple week before. There is a trip repor for that one.

Sandsfan, is alcohol allowed on the premises? I know some do not allow it, but do have small bars near the casino where you can purchase a beer (Sandia near Albequerque comes to mind). Some places will tell you it's illegal to take a beer to your room :(

We love SF and northern New Mexico. Scenery, that surreal light you get in special places like there and the Sierra and the islands, warm people, awesome food, oh, man, the artwork!!!!! (And talk about some golf, ooh wee ...)

Glad you had a bueno trip.

Congrats on a winning trip! Those Aces were really kind to you. They've been avoiding me lately - apparently they're all in Santa Fe!

No alcohol on the floor but there were a couple bars tucked around the casino. After playing, we stopped in for dinner and a few drinks. I brought beer to the room because we stopped at a different one the day before which had no alcohol.

We really did have a great trip and I think we will plan to return in the spring. September is a great time to be there if you like Hatch chilis. The green chili sauces we had were favorful and spicy. Great eating the whole trip. Figured I had gained 5 pounds but guess we walked most of it off.

Buffalo Thunder is the best of the Santa Fe casinos. And you can't beat Santa Fe for the reason's listed above. It is chile roasting season, and the smell is a combination of burning leaves (if you've lived in the east) and spicy chile. It's one of my favorite things about fall in N.M.

Chile season is awesome! We're still getting through the batch we charred and froze last year.

Ken, you better get eatin' on that 2012 crop. 2013 is pretty darn good. You will want to get some more, won't you? We had some pretty large storms come through here two weeks ago. It might have an impact on chile (mostly the red, but some impact on the green) picking this year. I got mine!

aces with same kicker, side by side

Here's the picture of our matching wins. My wife hits aces with a 3. While we are taking pictures, I played a hand and got aces with a 3. Different lines in triple play but still a little unbelievable that we both hit the same hand side by side.

Her top line, my bottom line.
