Bellagio room recommendation

Staying at the Bellagio next week, arriving on a Sunday. I have a regular room booked. What are the better rooms to ask in that hotel? Any recommendations? I heard that the ones in then Spa tower are better? Intend to go to the pool early in the morning (by 8-9 am) so I hear that it closer?

I usually do the $20 trick in MGM resorts and always get lucky, so plan to try here as well, but with $50 for 2 rooms. What should I ask without sounding greedy? I hope the pool is nice and quiet. I sayed at the Pallazo and it was really nice, hope the Bellagio is similar and not too crowded at least in the mornings. I tend to leave by 1pm.

Also, where is Jean Philipe patisserie?

If you want to be near the pastries and the pool, stay in the main hotel tower. Both are very close to the elevators

 

Rooms with fountain view are wonderful.

Spa tower has marginal views.

All rooms are nice though.

 

I agree. Go with the Bellagio Tower. It's a long, inconvenient walk to and from the Spa Tower. I believe most if not all of the deluxe rooms have been remodeled so the rooms should be comparable no matter which tower you're in. Good luck with the upgrade!

The Spa Tower is a trek to the casino but that tower elevator goes directly to the pool deck, arriving at the south end of the pools (opposite of the main pool entrance by the pool cafe). It's very convenient for pool access.

 

Agreed. But the elevator bank in the main hotel tower is about a two minute walk from the pool entrance and also much, much closer to the pastry shop (and just about everything else). All depends on what the OP wants

 

yes, both are close to the pool, but Jean Philippe is over past the conservatory on the way to the spa tower. it's on the complete other side of the casino from the main tower.

I would request a fountain view in the main tower.

 

I think by "pastry shop" they're talking about Palio, not JP. At least, that's the one that's right by the elevators. But I agree with fountain room in the main tower; being able to put the music on and watch the fountains from my window is one of my favorite things to do in Vegas.

 

So if I'm trying to get a fountain view upgrade, with the $20 trick, do I just ask for fountain view or a specific tower? I don't care about the walk from the elevators.

You want to be in the main tower, not the spa tower. The latter has "fountain view" rooms which are really only partial lakeview; you can see the fountains, but it's definitely not the same as being in the main tower, which is a dead-on view.

 

Yep, that was me because I thought Palio was what he meant. Don't see many people stopping by JP on their way to the pool, but lots of people stop by Palio on their way out there.

 

The main Bellagio tower is much closer to the entrance with better views of the strip/fountains. Plus it is taller than the Spa Tower. When you get off the main tower guest elevators you make a right and it is only a short walk to two pastry shops (Palio and Cafe Gelato) and the pool entrance. If you prefer the pastries at Jean Phillipe you can always grab some the night before and then just get some coffee to go with them at Palio or Cafe Gelato in the morning on your way to the pool.

There is actually a pretty good restaurant at the Bellagio pool (the Pool Cafe) that is only available to hotel guests and you can grab a bite to eat there as well.

 

Yes, I mean Jean Philippe. I'm from France initially and heard they are excellent by French standards. (And I'm picky).
As for the room recommendations, thanks for your suggestions. I have never stayed at the Bellagio (and never really visited it much), so I don't know what to expect. I picked it mainly for the quietness of the pool and hope not to be disappointed. I usually stay at the Mirage and always ask for a tower deluxe room with pool view for my $20 trick and usally succeed. The trick is to be specific with what you want (just don't ask for an upgrade and don't ask for a Penthouse 2 bdrm suite), so I don't expect to get a lakeview room at the Bellagio and would be satisfied with any upgrade.

Each hotel has it's good and bad blocks, so I am just looking at trying to maximize my regular (deluxe room) as best as I can. I won't be there for the weekend (arrive around lunch Sunday and leave Friday AM, so it shouldn't be as busy as on weekend. (although I know the Hotel has tons of visitors in the lobby.

Oh and I read about the Pool Cafe and plan to have breakfast there. Eating outside is great in the morning, when it's not too warm yet (suppose to be 100+ sunday, yeah!

 

Both Palio and JP are very good there. Perosnally, I feel that Palio has more pastry/breakfast selection and JP is better for dessert and treats. You really can't go wrong either way. Bellagio is definitely a quieter pool that Mirage, which I appreciate as well. Planning on getting a daybed there in July and hoping I don't fall asleep and burn to a crisp!

 

Yes, one of my French friends loved Jean Philippe, insisted on going there every afternoon for crepes. He disliked Picasso, liked Le Cirque, and worshipped Guy Savoy if those places are of any interest.

 

My last stay at the B was in the Spa Tower which I requested. Close to the pool, JP and the bridge to Vdara. Most of my gambling was at Aria and MC, so it worked for me. Great rooms.

 

Either will be fine, for me I'd stay in the main tower - because of the fountain view. Otherwise the spa tower would be fine since it is very close to the tram over to Aria. Main tower is closer to the casino floor, restaurants, and the little mall walkway to the strip/CP/Bally's

 

We were upgraded to a spa tower corner room with the $20 trick and enjoyed it for the reasons Dean stated...convenient to pool access & we love hanging out at the pool. So, worked for us and the room had a view looking out to mountains and the other window to the pools. Can't say the rooms were better than a standard room and we've stayed in those too. I guess mostly we liked taking the elevator right to the pool level.
